Social Media Press Release

It comes with great sadness to announce that PBA Local 127 must temporarily suspend charitable contributions at this time.

Unfortunately, due to blatant and unnecessary contract violations by the current Acting Chief of Police, Joseph Mandola against Old Bridge PBA Local 127 (rank and file officers), we recently sustained significant legal expenses to defend the rights of each and every PBA member in our union. Most recently, Old Bridge PBA Local 127 was forced to file an Emergency Order with the Middlesex County Superior Court where the Honorable Lisa M. Vugnuolo ruled in our favor. Even though we received a positive outcome as expected, we suffered a significant financial blow, again unnecessary, at the hands of the Acting Chief. Actions like this are not only a burden to the members of our organization but also to the taxpayers of the township. The township will now also be forced with spending taxpayer money to defend the Acting Chief’s unnecessary and unwarranted decisions affecting our members. It is for reasons like this that with a heavy heart, we must temporarily suspend our charitable work for our community.

As many of you are aware, over the past 5 years we have donated close to $100,000 to many noble causes including our Old Bridge Township Food Bank and graduating high school seniors in the form of college scholarships. Fortunately, we had already allocated our senior scholarship money for 2022; therefore, it will not be affected. It truly pains us to have to take this path but we have no other option as we cannot have people arbitrarily violate our lawful rights in conjunction with bankrupting our PBA with legal expenses.

With all that being said, I still want to urge everyone to please continue to send in your donation requests. We hope to resolve these matters as quickly as possible in order to get back to doing what we do best…Giving back to the community who we serve each and every day!

Thank you Old Bridge

We live in a time where law enforcement assaults and in the line of duty deaths continue to skyrocket. Just yesterday alone, nine Phoenix police officers were wounded attempting to save a baby from a dangerous and deadly situation.

In tough times like these, we appreciate any kind gestures to keep our spirits high. We received those kind gestures yesterday.

Old Bridge PBA Local 127 would like to thank the staff and students from the Grissom Elementary School before and after care program for the kind letters of appreciation they took the time to make for us.

We cant stress enough how appreciated our officer's feel when they see these letters. They will be displayed proudly for all our officer's to see before they head out each day to serve our Old Bridge community.

This must stop!!! .Police in this country are targets. Continually disrespected, fought and killed in the line of duty more frequently because of dangerous rhetoric.

"Tonight is one of the darkest nights in years. The shooting of two NYPD officers tonight leaves us all shattered. One officer was killed another is fighting for his life. They left their homes, kissed their families goodbye and put on their uniforms to protect those they serve like all of us. We stand with our brothers and sisters of the NYPD in these most challenging hours. We will be shoulder to shoulder in the days ahead as we mourn the loss of this hero and pray for his partner," - President Patrick Colligan.

UPDATE:
The we lost tonight - NYPD Officer Jason Rivera's family and friends. The 22 year old was on the job for 15 months when he was gunned down during a domestic dispute. We stand with the NYPD.

THE BIG DAY HAS ARRIVED

Tonight, Old Bridge PBA Local 127 is excited to host the 25th annual "Cops for Kids" holiday party. We anxiously look forward to this particular party each year because of the impact that it has on the children in our community.

Once again we were overwhelmed with the tremendous donations of toys/games/bicycles that we have received from various supporters. We wanted to take this time to recognize a couple of recent donations from some of our biggest supporters.

The Dupont Parlin Site employees took up a collection of toys and games for the party.

Glenda Marshall from the Carl Sandburg Middle School PTA organized a toy drive for the party.

Lamesha Wallace from Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, stopped by HQ to make a toy donation as well.

We would also like to recognize Eric of Wegman's in Manalapan for making a huge donation of items which will help us prepare and serve the dinners to the families in attendance.

These donations along with the many donations in the past month allow us to put forth a successful party for these children each year!

Thank you all!!
