Tex

Tex enjoying some doggie ice cream on this beautiful day with Celeste, our shelter employee.

Meet Tex! A handsome black and white pit bull that is around 2 years old. Tex is a very active dog who knows how to sit and give paw. He would be the perfect match for anyone that it looking for a best friend that has enough energy to go on endless adventures with. He loves being around other dogs so another playmate would be great for him. Tex needs a strong owner who has bully experience and is willing to continue his training. No cats for this guy due to his strength and activity level. We prefer a home with children over 13 years old. If you are looking for a running, hiking or exploring partner, then Tex is your guy! Please contact the Old Bridge Animal Shelter with any questions: (732) 721-5600 x6300.

Emily got groomed today!! We would like to give a huge thank you to Mel of Mel's Pet Parlor, LLC in Sayreville for making Emily beautiful again.
She is now available to meet her potential adopters. The vet says she is 2 to 4 years old and probably a Maltese mix. She is getting spayed Monday. She doesn't seem to mind cats but would require a meet and greet if you have dogs at home. She loves playing fetch and craves attention. She will do best in a home where someone is home a lot. A home visit is required, so you must live locally. Please contact the shelter with questions: (732) 721-5600 x6300.

*** UPDATE: We've had so many applications for Seal, we are no longer accepting applications. Thank you all for your interest! ***
You many remember Seal, who was found in Old Bridge on February 8th. No one has claimed him so he is available for adoption. He has been seen by the vet for his facial scars and the diagnosis is that they are old scars of unknown origin. He will be neutered on 02/24 but will meet with visitors and potential adopters until then. Seal is believed to be a Chihuahua mix, possibly with Jack Russel Terrier. Seal is only a puppy. The vet says he is about 6 months old and he is 9 pounds. He seems to be a little afraid of cats but good with dogs, so a meet and greet would be required if you have pets at home. If you are interested in adopting Seal, please stop by during public hours of 10am till 3pm.
P.S. You must live locally as a home visit prior to adoption is mandatory.

Update from former resident:
Do you all remember Willow? He was with us for the longest time (nearly 3 years). Somerset Animal Shelter agreed to take him as a transfer a few weeks ago. Well, he was adopted!! His new mom reached out with this update and some new photos:

Hello! I just wanted to send a couple pictures of Willow because I’ve heard how long he’s been at your shelter😿 I adopted him at the Somerset shelter two weeks ago and it seems like he has warmed up already!!

Update (02/15/2020): The vet has determined Seal does not have ringworm, but just old scarring. Unfortunately without knowing who his owners were, nothing can be done. If anyone has any information, please contact the shelter. On a happier note, Seal will be available to meet potential adopters this Tuesday.

Update (02/11/2020): The little guy was seen by the vet. They did a scraping of the scaring but we don't have results. No one has claimed him. For now we will nickname him "Seal" (after the very handsome musician with Discoid Lupus facial scaring)

Update (02/10/2020): The little guy has an appointment with the vet. He will check his skin issues. We think it might be ringworm. There is no evidence of abuse at this time.

This puppy was found today on Marlin Road in Old Bridge. He is male, not neutered, no microchip, and no collar. If you know who owns this dog, please contact the Old Bridge Animal Shelter at (732) 721-5600 x6300. Please note: this dog is not available for adoption. Please do not contact the shelter asking about adopting him. At this point we are only trying to find his owner.

Moonpie found himself in quite a predicament the night of December 22, 2019. He was found roaming a wooded area with a mayonnaise jar around his head. An officer saw him and couldn't let this guy suffer. He managed to pick up the cat and with some help he was able to remove the jar off his head.
Moonpie was then brought to the shelter were he was held for 7 days. He was then vaccinated and neutered. When his guardian angel called to check up on him we let him know he was doing great and was ready to be up for adoption.

Well today Moonpie not only got to thank this officer but this officer decided to make him part of his family.

What a great happy ending to this story
Congratulation Moonpie and best of luck with your new family!!

Meet Christian Grey,

The handsome lovable guy is around 2 years old and was found on Athena Avenue. He is quite the catch! He loves affection and can sit on your lap all day for some pets. When he's not getting any loving he will just lounge back in a bed and nap all day. He doesn't seem to mind other cats that he has met here. Christian is up to date on vaccines and is neutered.
Wouldn't you love to make Christian Grey your Valentine? Please come down to Old Bridge Animal Shelter and meet this handsome fellow.

Meet Pawl, Sneakers, Twinkle Toes and Tippy (the female in the bunch). They are 9 month old siblings that were found in Old Bridge. Pawl, Sneakers and Tippy have come around and are warming up to human contact. They lean in for some pets and belly rubs and love playing with toys. Twinkle Toes is still unsure so he would need a quiet household that someone can take their time and bring him out of his shyness. All cats are up to date on vaccines, neutered and spayed. Please contact the Old Bridge Animal Shelter with any questions.

Please sign and Please share. Puppy Mill Pet Stores have no place in today's society!!!! This will be coming to the Shoppes at Old Bridge. Safari Stan's is owned by Petland....the scumbag who keeps opening pet stores under different aliases everytime one is shut down. They are cruel, horrible, and their supply comes straight from horrid puppy mills. Please Please sign this petition so that the township knows we will NOT accept this!!!! http://chng.it/ym5MMpX8ts
PETLAND TO OPEN PET STORE AND TO SELL PUPPY MILL PUPPIES IN OLD BRIDGE A pet store that sells puppies called Safari Stan's has tentative plans to open at The Shoppes of Old Bridge. This store is owned by Petland, a notorious chain with a terrible record of animal treatment. Google "Petland and animal cruelty" and you will be shocked and sickened. Because of their documented links to puppy mills, New Jersey leads the nation in municipal efforts to ban pet stores which sell dogs from coming to their towns (130+ and counting, including Sayreville, South Amboy, Metuchen, Highland Park, East and North Brunswick). PLEASE CONTACT YOUR MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS AND TELL THEM YOU OPPOSE THIS STORE OPENING IN OLD BRIDGE. This link will get you their phone numbers and email addresses: [http://www.oldbridge.com/directory](http://www.oldbridge.com/directory)
