Thanks to SkyHigh Farm, Copake Grange, ADBC and the over 30 folks who turned out this morning in the cold rain.

We spent two hours walking the fields, learning about the Farm’s land management and listening to more birds than we saw. We did manage to see quite a few Bobolinks which is a testament to the good habitat and land stewardship.

The first ADBC and Churchtown Dairy “Bird Sketching Workshop” was held last weekend.

Club member and illustrator Eric Losh shared his passion for drawing & birding with an enthusiastic group of birders-artists. The classroom discussion was followed by a walk on the Churchtown Dairy property where participants applied their skills.

We held our 69th annual meeting on Sunday. After a short business meeting members were treated to a wonderful presentation by editor/author/podcaster and of course gardner, Margret Roach… “A Garden for the Birds”

Next Saturday’s 3/7 “Duck Walk” @ Copake Lake is being postponed until 3/21 as lake is still frozen. All other details remain the same.

The gray sky matched the ground and air on our Club walk yesterday. We tried really hard to find a Shrike but came up empty. Drew, our determined leader, helped us put together a limited checklist of 17 species.
