SPRING BROOK CREEK DREDGING PROJECT
Moosic Borough is happy to announce that removal of sediment and debris from a portion of Spring Brook Creek has begun. The project is primarily being funded by a state grant approved in 2022. The project underwent a long approval process from DEP and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to ensure limited disturbance to the surrounding environment and creek's native species.

Through funding from DCED as part of the Strategic Management and Financial Planning Program the borough is currently working with environmental and water management experts to develop a 3-year plan to remediate our levee and flood protection system.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

On Friday, June 12th, motorists should expect delays in and around Montage Mountain Road and Glenmaura National Boulevard due to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders doubleheader and the Machine Gun Kelly concert at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain.

The Moosic Borough Police Department would like to make the public aware of a temporary traffic plan that will be implemented due to the anticipated high volume of traffic associated with these events.

To ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles throughout the Montage Mountain area, traffic control measures will be in effect beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12th. We ask for your cooperation and patience while these measures are in place.

Temporary Traffic Plan

Outbound traffic on Montage Mountain Road, from Glenmaura National Boulevard to the upper traffic signal at Glenmaura National Boulevard, will be restricted as all available travel lanes will be utilized for inbound traffic traveling toward PNC Field and The Pavilion at Montage Mountain.

All vehicles exiting businesses and commercial properties located along Montage Mountain Road, between Glenmaura National Boulevard and the upper traffic signal, will be required to make a right-hand turn only when leaving their respective properties.

Vehicles exiting the businesses in the affected area should proceed to the traffic signal at the intersection of Montage Mountain Road and Glenmaura National Boulevard.

Officers, traffic control personnel, and temporary traffic control devices will be deployed throughout the area to facilitate traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Glenmaura National Blvd. can be utilized to bypass the restricted section of Montage Mountain Road.

These measures are necessary to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and provide a safe environment for motorists, pedestrians, event attendees, employees, and business patrons.

The Moosic Borough Police Department appreciates your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work to manage the increased traffic associated with these events. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling in the area.

For questions regarding the temporary traffic plan, please contact the Moosic Borough Police Department.
