⚠️ Slow-No-Wake Buoy Removal Update

The Slow-No-Wake buoys have been removed from the Connecticut River and Housatonic River for the winter season.

Please remember: Although these areas are no longer marked by buoys, Slow-No-Wake regulations remain in effect.

Boaters should continue to observe designated Slow-No-Wake zones.

Attention, Pickerel Lakeboaters!
A 3-foot drawdown will commence on or about November 1, 2026. The drawdown will be managed to restore the normal water surface elevation by early April 2027.

⚠️ Dam Barrier Floats Removed: Boaters & Paddlers Use Caution!

Seasonal dam barrier floats have been removed from the following Connecticut waterbodies:

• Eagleville Lake: Coventry/Mansfield
• Ashland Mills Pond: Griswold
• Glasgo Pond: Griswold
• Pachaug Pond: Griswold
• Shepaug Dam (Lake Zoar): Newtown/Southbury

If you're still boating or paddling on these waterbodies, please use extra caution near dams. The removal of these floats means the floating barriers are no longer in place to help identify hazardous areas.

Stay alert, maintain a safe distance from dams, and enjoy the remainder of the boating season safely!

A drawdown will commence on or about November 1, 2026, to reach 3 feet by December 1, 2026. The drawdown will be maintained until approximately March 1, 2027, to restore the normal water surface elevation by early April 2027.

The “Slow No Wake” markers have been removed for the season at the following locations:

• Pawcatuck River: Stonington, CT
• Mystic River: Mystic, CT

Boaters should continue to use caution, maintain safe speeds, and be mindful of other waterway users.

Connecticut River Amtrak Bridge Update

The “Danger Work Area” and “Slow No Wake” buoys near the Amtrak Bridge in Old Saybrook/Old Lyme will be removed by the end of October for the winter season.

Boaters should continue to use the navigational channel due to floating equipment and structures in the waterway.

Please approach the bridge with caution and avoid creating a wake to keep boaters and work crews safe!
