Floatie is an amazing, safe boating mascot, but we want to see how other CT boaters safely enjoyed the water this year.
We are looking for cover pictures for this year's "Boater's Guide" as well as photos for the inside pages. If you have the chance to go through summer boating pictures in the next few days, please send some our way!
You can submit them in the comments or send a DM.
To be considered, all photos must show safe boating practices, and all occupants must be wearing life jackets

US Coast Guard needs your help!
The national recreational boating safety survey is a nationwide survey sponsored by the US Coast Guard to understand how many people go boating, what types of boats they use, and how often they are on the water. As part of the survey, the USCG is seeking volunteers to complete a brief sign-up page with a few questions about their boating habits and to share their contact information. The USCG will be contacting you later in the year to complete the survey.
To volunteer, please go to: https://norcfed.gov1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0ezfBlrTYxLdG4e

The Clean Vessel Act Grant Program is still accepting applications for 2027.

Public questions with official answers have now been posted to our website linked above.

The purpose of the program is to increase the availability of proper waste handling facilities for boaters (known as Marine Sewage Disposal Facilities or MSDFs). Any owner/operator of a public or private marine facility desiring to install a new MSDF, with an existing MSDF in need of substantial repairs or upgrades, or desiring to obtain funding to operate and maintain a new or existing MSDF may apply.

This is First Light Power calling to upgrade the Lower Housatonic Flood Plan to Flood Alert. River flows below Stevenson Station are expected to be between 10,000 and 14,000 cubic feet per second overnight. Please take your appropriate actions to ensure the affected public is notified.

From “SmartStart for Paddlers” and applicable to all boaters. Never Boat Under the Influence (BUI)—sober boaters are safer boaters—expect the unexpected.
