Mitchell vs City of Old Town. Mitchell reluctantly sues the City of Old Town to legally force them to quit their claim of owning Lot 189. It is unfortunate that it has to come to this, but the city refuses to acknowledge Mitchell's legitimate claim to the land he has been nurturing for over 20 years. Moreover, they have not invested any time into actually researching the deed to Lot 189. It will take several years, and multiple letters between lawyers for the city to realize they are wrong.

As Mr. Mitchell tried to point out to them, the land was abandoned without a proper deed, but it would take years before they accepted this as being true.

Article in the local paper, The Penobscot Times. It was published in the March 30, 2017 edition. It is a fairly accurate description of the first meeting with City Council, and presents the original hope of developing the abandoned property into a flourishing garden area.
