We are Investigating a hit and run involving an E-bike and a motor vehicle near the intersection of Delaware and Queen St. that occurred this morning at approximately 2:45 a.m. . The E-bike operator sustained serious injuries. We are working to find the type of vehicle that was involved. Please let us know if you have any information regarding this . 716-376-5677

This morning at approximately 5:00 a.m. members of the Emergency response team assisted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriffs S.R.T. team conducted a Search warrant for drugs and guns at 214 North 12th St. . This warrant was obtained by our Street Crimes Unit after an investigation into drug sales and possession at this location. We were also assisted by the Southern tier regional drug task force. Three people were arrested after Investigators located Fentanyl, M**h, a sawed off shotgun and drug paraphernalia.
52 year old Timmy Kirby of 214 N. 12th was arrested for Criminal possession of a weapon 3rd. degree ( D Felony )
41 year old Ernest Robinson of 214 N. 12th was arrested for Criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree (C felony)
34 year old Steven Bailey of 214 N. 12th was arrested for Criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree

Our Street Crimes unit, assisted by the Patrol unit arrested 52 year old Kevin Harrington A.K.A. "Baldy" of 711 W. Sullivan St. ( upper ) Olean for a indictment warrant charging him with 2 counts of Criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd. degree and 2 counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree ( all B Felonies ) . Harrington sold Crack Co***ne in the City of Olean. Harrington was booked and transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail to await further proceedings.

A Search warrant for drugs was conducted at 109 W. Green St . lower left apartment on May 26th at approximately 10:00 p.m.. This warrant was served in response to several complaints regarding drug activity over a lengthy period of time. Our Street Crimes unit had recently served a Search warrant on the upper apartment and has made several drug related arrests at this apartment complex. Tuesday, the Emergency response team made entry to serve this Search warrant and encountered two males. 37 year old Thomas Washington , ( No permanent address ) was arrested for Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree ( B Felony ) for possessing Fentanyl. 27 year old Anthony Sledge - Pearson A.K.A.
" Rome" of 109 W. Green St. was also arrested for Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree for possessing Fentanyl. Other drug related items and cash was also seized inside the residence by Investigators. Outside the apartment building, Police encountered 41 year old Micah Hicks A.K.A. " Nephew " of 109 W. Green St. who was arrested on an outstanding indictment warrant charging him with two counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree, two counts of Criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd. degree for selling Fentanyl and also a Criminal nuisance. The Street Crimes unit was assisted by the Southern tier regional drug task force and the Cattaraugus County District Attorney's office. 109 W. Green St. is owned by Muhaamad Jehangir of Mepcon Holding LLC .

The Olean Police Department is very fortunate to have two new Police Officers at our Department. Last night, Kaitlin Jensen and Joseph Long graduated from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's academy located in Jamestown. Our own Captain Michael Marsfelder joined the graduation ceremony. Officer Long was the recipient of the physical fitness award for being 1st in the class. Kaitlin and Joe are a great addition to our Department and we know they will have successful careers here.

Yesterday at 12:30 p.m. , 35 year old Kyle T. Margeson of 1026 Buffalo St. Olean was arrested on the 100 Block of S. 1st. St. Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree ( B Felony ) and Criminal use of drug paraphernalia ( A Misdemeanor ). Our Street Crimes Unit previously obtained a Search warrant for the person of Kyle Margeson . Margeson was in possession of Psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia when he was stopped. The Street Crimes Unit was assisted by our Patrol unit, the Criminal investigation unit and the Southern tier regional drug task force.

Yesterday, members of the Olean Police Department’s Emergency Response Team had the opportunity to spend time with students from the BOCES Criminal Justice and Medical Assisting programs.

Students were able to get a hands-on look at how our team operates, including room clearing techniques, an overview of specialized equipment, and practical medical training. This type of collaboration gives students real-world insight into both law enforcement and emergency medical response, while also reinforcing the importance of teamwork, communication, and preparedness.

We appreciate the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by all the students and instructors. It’s always a great experience to connect with those who are interested in careers in public safety and to help build the next generation of first responders.

Gary C. Coleman, age 36 of 121 S. 7th St. Olean was arrested on April 24th for an outstanding warrant charging him with Criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd. degree and Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree ( B Felonies ). Coleman was arrested in the Village of Allegany and was transported to the Olean Police department for processing. We were assisted by the Allegany Police department.
