What a great ending to the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation's 2026 Summer Movie Nights. The Library was proud to be there helping to make our community happy.

Lots of free books were given to children and many bags of books given to teachers.

Everyone had a great time choosing that special book. One little girl was just as happy to be finishing her dad's milkshake.

Thank you OVCEF for making this happen and we look forward to joining you next summer!

Saying goodbye to our favorite teammate today! Fynn has been such a bright light at the circulation desk for patrons seeking tech support or their next great literary adventure.

A 2026 graduate of Oley Valley High School, Fynn is set to soar at Mansfield - Commonwealth University of PA, where she'll pursue her passion for Music Education - Instrumental. 🎶 Her dreams of becoming a music educator, band director, or orchestra conductor are within reach, and we have no doubt she'll make a wonderful impact!

When asked what she will miss most about working at the Library, she said the people. "I have always enjoyed working with and helping our patrons and I will miss them very much. Likewise, I could not have asked for better co-workers! I have always felt welcome here and I will look forward to visiting over the school break!"

When asked of her co-workers to say a few words about Fynn, they said:

"Fynn was the best kind of employee. She was always there to support our patrons. She was friendly and helped out wherever we needed her. Always a smile on her face."

"You can always depend on Fynn to get the job done. Fynn is a joy to be around, in and out of the library. She will surely be missed. Fynn is a true asset!"

We are so sad to see you go, but we know you're going to crush your next chapter.

Don't feel like cooking during these hot, humid Dog Days of Summer?! Take the family out for a burger & fries.

We will have Applebee's Burgers for a Cause certificates available to purchase tonight (Thursday 8/13) 5:30 pm until a few minutes before the start of the movie at 7:30 pm in the Oley Fairgrounds Commercial Exhibit Building where we hold our Book Sales.

Or, stop by the Library anytime.

We will see you Thursday evening for Oley Valley Community Education Foundation's final Movie Night of the Summer!

As part of the BACK-TO-SCHOOL FUN theme, the Library will be there from 5:30 pm until a few minutes before the start of the movie at 7:30 pm in the Oley Fairgrounds Commercial Exhibit Building where we hold our Book Sales.

* Kids will get to pick out 1 FREE BOOK
* Teachers can take home 1 FREE BAG OF BOOKS
* And, everyone else, books are only $1 a piece or fill a bag for $5

Vintage books and sets are not part of this offer.

We look forward to seeing everyone in our community at the movies and supporting the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation.

Four-year old Reid Borthwick is the winner of our Lehigh Valley IronPigs Raffle ... 4 tickets and a parking pass to the August 15th game!

Hopefully, he is taking his two brothers Miles and Owen with him ... they all seem really excited!

Reid answered both raffle questions:
- The best thing I did this summer was CAR SHOW WITH GRANDPARENTS.
- The best book I read this summer was CREEPY CARROTS.

Join our Book Club on Thursday, August 6th at 4:00 p.m. for a discussion about the New York Times Bestseller THEO OF GOLDEN by Allen Levi.

The story is a heartwarming, fable-like fiction piece set in the fictional, small Southern town of Golden. The author, Allen Levi, was inspired to write the story after an experience in a real coffee shop where he bought a few hanging portraits and wondered about the faces behind them.

Looking forward to talking about this book with you this Thursday.
