I had the honor of working with about fifty of our everyday heroes this Veterans Day weekend.
Our law enforcement men and women often don’t receive the recognition they deserve, yet they’re out there day and night, serving and protecting their communities.
Like any profession, there may be a few bad apples, but the vast majority are dedicated individuals doing their best to do what’s right.
Those of us outside law enforcement need to remember that these men and women are striving to perform their duties with integrity and professionalism.
Unfortunately, lawmakers, administrators, and even the general public sometimes make their jobs more difficult by setting unrealistic expectations about how policing should be done.
Let’s leave policing to the professionals and do our part by following the law, respecting one another, and cooperating when interacting with officers. If an officer is in the wrong, handle it later through the proper legal channels.
I’m probably going to miss some departments but…
Thank you Tupelo PD, Batesville PD, Sherman PD (Mississippi), Effingham PD, Illinois State Troopers, Murphysboro PD, Jackson County PD, Jefferson County PD, Mt. Vernon PD, Carbondale PD (Illinois).
It was a long 6 days of travel and teaching but y’all made it a blast! Great seeing some guys I hadnt seen in awhile also!
God bless all of you!
