We know to people their pets mean as much to them as the rest of their family members. These will help us help your family members, Should we encounter an emergency with one of them while operating at an incident

The members of the Olive Fire Department extend our thoughts and prayers to the members of the Coldenham Fire Department following last night’s devastating fire that caused significant damage to their fire station and destroyed several pieces of apparatus.

Our thoughts are also with those who sustained minor injuries, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

A firehouse is more than just a building. It is a second home, a place of service, and the heart of a department. While the road ahead will be challenging, we know the fire service stands together in times like these.

Please keep the members of the Coldenham Fire Department in your thoughts as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding. We stand with our brothers and sisters, and we are ready to help in the any way we can.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Spring Lake FD on their loss of a great member

Today, the members of the Spring Lake Fire Department pause to honor the life and legacy of one of our own, Dave Allen.

For 49 years, our departed brother served the Spring Lake Fire Department with unwavering dedication, generosity, and selflessness. Nearly five decades of answering the call, mentoring fellow firefighters, serving our community, and putting others before themselves is a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Dave's commitment helped shape our department and inspired generations of firefighters who had the privilege of serving alongside him. We are profoundly grateful for the time, sacrifice, and countless acts of service he gave to our department and to the community he loved.

To Dave's family and loved ones, we extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt gratitude for sharing him with us for so many years.

Rest easy. Your watch is over. We will take it from here.

Thank you for 49 years of faithful service. You will forever remain a part of the Spring Lake Fire Department family.@

After years of advocacy by FASNY, the NYS Assembly has passed landmark legislation increasing the volunteer firefighter and EMS tax credit from $200 to $800, the first increase since the program was established nearly 20 years ago.

The legislation also removes outdated restrictions that prevented volunteers from receiving both the state income tax credit and locally authorized property tax exemptions, delivering long-overdue support for volunteer emergency responders across New York state.

“This is a transformational moment for volunteer emergency services in New York State,” said FASNY First Vice President, Donald J. Farrell. “Quadrupling the volunteer firefighter and EMS tax credit from $200 to $800 sends a powerful message that New York recognizes the critical role volunteers play in protecting communities every day.”

As volunteer departments statewide continue to face recruitment and retention challenges, the legislation represents one of the most significant investments in volunteer emergency services in decades.

The Senate is expected to advance the measure in the coming days.
