BACK-TO-SCHOOL SAFETY: Stop Means Stop.

When a school bus extends its stop arm and flashing red lights are activated, children may be crossing the street from any direction.

Ignoring a stopped school bus puts young lives at risk.

Remember:
👉 Stop whenever required by California law when approaching a stopped school bus with flashing red lights.
👉 Remain stopped until the lights stop flashing and the stop arm is withdrawn.
👉 Watch carefully for children who may still be crossing after the bus begins moving.
👉 Be especially alert during the first few weeks of school as new routines are established.

Every bus stop is a reminder that children's safety comes first.

A few moments of patience can prevent a lifetime of regret.

Our C-shift left out Tuesday morning in B315 to form up with Sutter County Fire, Red Bluff FD, Willows FD, & Linda Fire as Strike Team 3250F en-route to the Timber Incident near Monterey CA. The crews put in a good 24hr operational period of work yesterday and are now resting safely at the base camp. They head back on the line tomorrow morning.

Beware of this continued heat wave! Drink lots of water and limit outdoor activities during the heat of the afternoon. Be mindful of young children, elderly, & your pets. These groups are affected by the heat even more and can overheat much more quickly!

A Heat Advisory has been issued for much of the area today, going into effect at 10AM this morning through 10PM tonight. High temperatures of 102-108; hottest in the northern Sacramento Valley, along with widespread Moderate and areas of Major HeatRisk today.
