Arson can unintentionally begin at an early age. Teach children that fire is dangerous—a small flame can quickly grow out of control. Fire is a tool, not a toy, and should only be used by adults.

Support firesetting prevention by forming partnerships between local fire departments and private sector organizations. Together, we can keep our communities safe.

If you are experiencing a fire or other emergency, call 911. This is a direct line with a 911 operator that dispatches the appropriate emergency agency.

The (865) 435-7777 ext 3 is a non-emergency administrative line. It is not monitored 24/7 and calling it during an emergency can cause significant delays in an emergency response.

Accidentally call 911? Don’t hang up.

Stay on the line and let the telecommunicator know it was a mistake. Hanging up may trigger a callback or a response to check on your safety.

A quick explanation helps keep emergency resources available for those who truly need them.
