Our mission is to protect the health, safety, and well-being of both animals and the community by providing compassionate, professional, and responsive animal care and control services. This is accomplished by controlling populations of stray and feral animals and enforcing County ordinances. Saint Louis County animal control officers cover 500+ square miles of land. They respond to calls regardin

g stray animals, wild animal calls (raccoons, bats), bites and much more. If you have a question, concern, or matter that you feel needs investigation or attention please call or email with detailed information. We are open from 10am to 6pm M-F, and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

EDDIE is READY to find his forever home 🏡🥰

187 days. That's how long this amazing dog has been waiting for his chance to find a loving home. 💔

Imagine spending more than half of an entire year, confined to a kennel for the majority of those days. Half of a year. Think about all of the things you would get to experience during that time. Now consider the fact Eddie hasn't had much to look forward to over those 187 days...

Eddie has waited long enough. Eddie deserves to know the unconditional love of being someone's true companion animal. Eddie deserves to go HOME. 🏡

📣 Eddie is one of the longest-stay members of the 60+ Day Club. To help him find his person, his adoption fee will be WAIVED until this good boy finds his forever home. 📣

On top of all of that, Eddie is microchipped, neutered, and fully up to date on his vaccinations! He can be selective with dogs but has done will with other mild-mannered friends. We would require Eddie meet any other pups in his next home before finalizing his adoption. 🐾

Two more of our 60+ Day Club members have left the building!! 🥳❤️

Sending a VERY BIG happy tails to both Darla and Knox!! 🏡🐾

Sweet Darla had been in our system for more than 450 days... most recently, she had two stints with her foster family dating back to January of this year. Now, Darla will finally get to call a place her home after such a long wait 🥰

Knox originally came to our shelter back in October of last year. He was adopted from our shelter in December but unfortunately came back as a stray after he was found wandering around a cemetery in July of this year. But now, Knox is home and surrounded by love! 🏡

The 60+ Day Club is dwindling! Come meet the remaining members of this club and take advantage of our offer to WAIVE all adoption fees to help these long timers find their way out of the shelter!

It's Friday so you know what that means... time for another Foster Friday!!

Today's featured foster pet is Eliza! Eliza is a beautiful, 2-year-old black brindle Plott Hound mix who is as sweet as she is pretty. She is doing great in her foster home and is ready to find a place that she can really make her own!

🌟🎥 They call him HOLLYWOOD for a reason 🎥🌟

Hollywood is just 2 years old and has already been through more than 2 months in the shelter. He is a very resilient boy and has stayed upbeat throughout his stay and somehow manages to smile through the stress 😀

As a part of the 60+ Day Club, Hollywood's adoption fees are waived until he finds his forever home! 🏡

We know he is going to make such a good companion for someone out there. He is affectionate, friendly, playful and walks well on leash. He is already potty trained and keeps a clean kennel until he can go out in the morning too!

Hollywood is definitely treat motivated and is already very smart. He already knows "sit" and "lay" and shows a ton of potential to add even more skills to his resume. 🧠

Since we announced this initiative last Friday, 6 members of the 60+ Day Club have found their forever homes! 🎉🏡

There's nothing quite like seeing the joy on an animal's face when they realize their long wait is over and they are heading HOME 🥰 Check out how happy Remy, Jazz and China look after learning their wait was over! ❤️

This progress is GREAT, but there is still work to be done! Dozens of pets are still in our shelter, waiting for their turn to escape the 60+ Day Club.

PUPDATE: China has been adopted!! 🎉🏡

❤️ Another member of the 60+ Day Club needs YOUR help! ❤️

Meet China! This 2-year-old sweetheart with a heart-shaped nose has been in our shelter for more than 80 long days. She has watched so many of her friends get adopted and experience the joy of leaving the shelter... but hasn't gotten to experience that herself just yet. 🥺

And we're not really sure why she hasn't found her person yet. If we could only use one word to describe China, it would be gentle 🥰

China is great on leash, takes treats very gently, and loves to show affection to her handlers. PLUS, China is dog friendly and would love to have another friend in her next home to show her the ropes! 🐾
