Highway 4 from Hector to Fairfax reopens to traffic
HECTOR, Minn. – Highway 4 between Hector and Fairfax has reopened to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Crews completed resurfacing work and replaced multiple culverts along the corridor to improve safety and strengthen infrastructure. Ulland Brothers, Inc. was the contractor for this $11.3 million project.

🚸 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER 🚸
As students head back to school, the Renville County Sheriff's Office is asking motorists and parents to help keep our children safe.

🚗 Motorists:
• Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
• Watch carefully for children crossing streets, especially near bus stops.
• Never pass a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm—it’s the law and could save a child’s life.
• Stay alert and eliminate distractions while driving.

🚌 Parents:
Take a few minutes to review school bus safety with your children:
• Arrive at the bus stop early and stay away from the roadway.
• Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before approaching.
• Always cross in front of the bus where the driver can see you, and only when signaled by the driver.
• Keep track of your belongings and follow the driver’s instructions.
