🌊 Keeping Boca Chica Beach Clean! 🌊

Last Friday, August 21st, members of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office PAW (Prisoners At Work) Program spent the day giving back to our community by helping clean up Boca Chica Beach.

Our PAW Program inmates worked hard picking up trash and helping keep one of our local treasures beautiful. We are proud of their efforts.

🌎 We all have a part to play in keeping our beaches clean! If you visit Boca Chica Beach, please remember to pick up after yourself, properly dispose of your trash, and leave the beach as beautiful as you found it.

Together, we can make a difference and help protect our beaches for everyone to enjoy! 💙🌊

This morning, the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office had a special visit from Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, who came to announce and deliver more than $4.2 million in combined funding through the Ballistic Windshield Grant and Operation Stonegarden.

These critical funds will provide important resources to help protect our deputies and strengthen border security. The Ballistic Windshield Grant will help equip our patrol vehicles with bullet-resistant windshields, providing an additional layer of protection for our deputies while they are on duty.

The Operation Stonegarden Grant provides funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies to support collaboration with U.S. Border Patrol on border security operations. This funding will help support additional personnel, overtime pay, and new equipment needed for these important operations.
Sheriff Manuel Treviño knows this funding will go a long way in providing our deputies with the resources, equipment, and protection they need to safely serve and protect the residents of Cameron County.

We are grateful to Congressman Vicente Gonzalez for his continued support of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office and for helping secure these important investments in the safety of our deputies and our community.
