We’ve been notified by the County that starting in early September and into October, marked “Cyclomedia” vehicles will be photographing property exteriors throughout our county for the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office.

They will operate only from public streets and be in fully marked vehicles; image attached to this post.

Vehicles will display “Cyclomedia” logos, and workers will have photo identification plus a county authorization letter.

This is not police activity. Should you have any questions direct them to the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office.

This week, Officer Hare has been giving e-bike safety presentations to our high school students, reviewing both legal requirements and the importance of safely operating e-bikes.

Please...if you are the parent of a child with an E-bike, or a child who may someday want one, take 5 minutes to watch this video from the Ohio State Highway Patrol with your child.

E-bike accidents can result in serious injuries. Please talk with your children about e-bike safety, and make sure they know the rules before they ride.

We want to provide residents with an update regarding the Greenway Trail Phase I project and the Township’s decision following recent developments with FirstEnergy.

Olmsted Township is extremely disappointed by additional requirements established by FirstEnergy late in the project. Throughout the planning and development process, the Township proceeded in good faith based on our understanding and communications with FirstEnergy. The Township invested significant time and resources in planning, engineering, environmental review, design, and permitting, and the project was fully designed before these new requirements were established.

After considerable discussion and deliberation, the Board of Trustees determined that the new requirements imposed by FirstEnergy are not feasible for the Township to satisfy. As a result, the Board concluded that the project cannot reasonably move forward under the conditions now being required, and Greenway Trail Phase I will be tabled at this time.

We are extremely disappointed with this outcome, particularly given the substantial work and resources invested to bring the project to this point. The Township entered this process in good faith and fully expected the project could be completed based on the conditions and understanding that existed throughout the design process.

Unfortunately, because of FirstEnergy’s new requirements, the Township will also be unable to utilize the grant funding that was secured specifically for Phase I.

While this is not the outcome we wanted, future Township dollars that had been anticipated for the Greenway Trail project will instead be redirected toward the Town Center Stearns Road and Bagley Road Intersection and Streetscape Project. This will allow the Township to continue investing in improvements that support our community and the Town Center.

We understand this is disappointing news for residents who have been looking forward to the Greenway Trail. Please know that the Township shares that disappointment. We remain committed to being transparent with residents and will provide additional information as plans for the Town Center project move forward.

The Heritage Home Program has partnered with PNC Bank to be a preferred lender offering an interest rate discount on PNC Home Equity products.

The Heritage Home Program and PNC Bank are excited about their new partnership where PNC Bank will offer a discounted interest rate to homeowners of older homes referred through the Heritage Home Program on their home improvement projects. Interior and exterior projects qualify. The Heritage Home Program has more information available on project requirements and eligibility. For qualifying projects, homeowners who apply at PNC must meet the lender’s requirements. If approved, homeowners will receive a .5% rate discount on PNCs Home Equity products used for their Heritage Home Program projects.

As part of the Fitch Road Sanitary and Road Project, Tri-Mor, Cuyahoga County’s contractor, will begin replacing Fitch Road south of Cook Road on August 17.

The work will begin with the removal of the existing northbound (east) lane, progressing south to the existing concrete pavement. This portion of the work is expected to take approximately one week. The contractor will then prepare the roadway and install the aggregate base before moving to the southbound (west) lane, where a similar process and timeframe will be followed.

During this phase of construction, traffic will be maintained in one widened lane, with both northbound and southbound traffic using the open portion of the roadway. Fitch Road will remain limited to local access only. Tri-Mor is also in the process of notifying residents who will be directly impacted by the work.

Once both lanes have been removed and the aggregate base has been installed, the contractor will prepare the roadway for paving. This preparation work is expected to take approximately one additional week.

Paving will then begin with the northbound (east) lane, which is expected to take approximately one day. The southbound (west) lane is anticipated to be paved approximately one week later. During paving operations, local traffic will be further restricted, as the contractor will need to use the open lane to accommodate concrete trucks and other paving equipment and operations.

All work is weather dependent, and the construction schedule may be adjusted as necessary.

As part of the Township’s 2026 Road Program, Konstruction King will be working on the following intersections:

📍 Timber Lane & Cook Road — Work begins today, Monday, August 10.
📍 Lakeside Village Parkway & Cook Road — Work begins tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11.

Both intersections will remain open during construction, but traffic will be reduced to one lane, so please expect some delays if you need to travel these routes.

Both intersections are expected to be fully open by Friday afternoon.
