The 5th and 6th graders were able to attend the 40th Annual Environmental Field Days sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension. This field trip is one that students and teachers look forward to. Students get to learn about their environment and be hands on! The students were broken into two groups and set out to rotate through the 9 stations each with different activities and presentations. Students were able to bring home their own micro-greens! It was a day of learning, exercise, and hands on activities. We are very appreciative to the sponsors of this yearly event!

Our PK/Kindergarten Scientists have watched their frogs complete their life cycle! From eggs, to tadpoles, to frogs! They released the frogs this week into a pond near the school so they can now grow into bigger frogs and enjoy some bug snacks!

Ms. Rascoe's Class joined Mr. Knierim and Ms. Riley for the "Best Day Ever" type field trip. We went to a radio station in Glens Falls/Queensbury, where we learned all about the radio station and even watched the two men perform a radio show and played pop and rock music. We created a commercial at the Radio Station for our "Hunger Busters". We then went to the Saratoga Library to look for a lot of different books and DVDs but were surprised when we were allowed to pet all different therapy dogs including a chocolate lab, Lassie and a mastiff. We went to Caffe Lena and listened to a variety of music on a record player where a man named "Mike on the Mic" explained a description of each song. We enjoyed the day very much, being able to hang out with our friends and teachers.

The last few weeks in Pre-K and Kindergarten have been full of excitement and hands-on learning!

Our tadpoles are growing quickly and have officially started growing their hind legs! Students have loved observing the changes each day and learning all about the life cycle of frogs.

We are also thrilled to announce that our ducklings have hatched! After 28 days in the incubator, students were able to watch the amazing hatching process right before their eyes. Since then, we have been learning all about the responsibilities of caring for these fluffy little friends, including how to safely and gently hold them. It has been such a fun and memorable learning experience for our youngest learners!

What a special morning at MCS! Our PK-6 Students each brought a "Special Person" to school today! They shared a delicious breakfast and then headed to their classrooms where their teachers had an extra special activity planned for them to do together! It was so nice to see so many friends, family, and community members in the building today! ☘️
