Great read!
Young children don’t always have the necessary language or know how to explain what they’re feeling, so they act out. It’s our job to be there and help them through their challenges. We can also help by modeling how we identify, label, and express our own feelings in an appropriate way. Our children are always watching and listening, even when we think they’re not, and they learn from us!

I think this is true for our older kids who may be struggling, too. As much as they may try and push us away, oftentimes what they really need is our understanding, compassion, and love.đź’ś

“The children who need love the most will always ask for it in the most unloving ways.” I couldn't agree more.  Do you ever feel like your kids crave

It's time to start planning our next group...do you know anyone who could benefit from a little extra help with separation anxiety, self-regulation, handling new situations/meeting new people, coping skills when things don't go the way you want them to???

Our next session begins this Saturday, and we’d love to add a few more children to our group!

For those kids who need a little extra help with:

• separation and reintegration after the past two years

• a boost in their self-confidence

• feeling comfortable in new situations and with new people

• learning how to engage appropriately with peers

• self-regulation

• flexibility when things don't go as expected

• identifying and expressing their emotions appropriately

• and more!

Call, email, or message me for more information or to answer any questions. Please share with anyone you think may benefit from this program.

North Star Creations is a new start-up company focusing on emotional intelligence development.

Emotional development is so important, and too often overlooked...I love this idea and the materials created to get the conversation started with children from an early age.

At I Think I Can, we do emotional check-ins every time we meet to help the children learn to recognize, identify, label, and express their feelings.

North Star Creations was co-founded by Mat and Elaine Parsons to address the gaps in emotional intelligence development for pre-elementary school children.

We founded North Star Creations to develop fun educational materials and characters that can be used to build an emotional intelligence foundation. By using books, dolls, games, puzzles, and flashcards, kids can improve literacy, and grow their emotional intelligence. All while preparing for the future academic and social challenges brought on by school.

It is much easier for children to learn when they relate to the materials provided. So, North Star Creations created ten characters, each with different backgrounds and all used equally to promote the diversity and inclusivity seen in everyday classrooms. By focusing on children's feelings, we encourage early development of mental health awareness. North Star Creations strives to bring the benefits of emotional awareness and diversity to each and every family.

North Star Creations invites you to join us on this journey to help every child have more opportunities to develop, learn, and succeed.

This goes along with what I’ve seen and what I’ve been hearing from parents. Some kids are struggling with reintegration, they’re behind with their coping and problem solving skills, and they don’t always have the words to express what they’re feeling, so they act out.

If this sounds like your child or like someone you know, call or email to get more information about I Think I Can and see how we can help.
