Honored to receive Legislator of the Year from The Arc Maryland alongside Del. Aaron Kaufman. The Arc has spent decades advocating for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families across Maryland. This year, the theme of their annual convention was Limitless, and I can’t think of a better word to represent this organization and the community they serve.

This recognition means the world and I look forward to continuing this work together. Congrats to all of this year’s honorees! Thank you, Arc Maryland!

This weekend, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park. As a former skateboarder, I'm especially excited for this one!

In 1981, Hallie Wells donated her 290 acres in Clarksburg to Montgomery County Parks, naming it in honor of her husband Ovid. She wanted to create a lasting gathering place for the community she and her husband loved, ensuring it would be protected and cherished for generations to come.

Hallie had spent years watching children light up around the historic Hershell-Spillman Carousel on the National Mall, and she wanted that same magic for Clarksburg. She purchased that very carousel with this park always in mind. And if it looks a little familiar, that's because it spent decades at Wheaton Regional Park before finally arriving in its new home!

The District 14 team (Delegate Anne Kaiser Delegate Pam Queen Bernice Dansoah Mireku-North) was proud to secure $300,000 to bring Hallie's vision to life, adding a skate park and playground for families across the upcounty.

None of this would have been possible without the Montgomery County MD Council, the State of Maryland, Montgomery Parks, and M-NCPPC. Grateful for the partnership in honoring Hallie's legacy.

SB 905 invests in emerging industries like regenerative medicine, biotechnology, aerospace, and quantum computing, helping Maryland remain a leader in innovation while expanding job opportunities. Maryland is uniquely positioned to grow these industries, and this legislation moves us forward.

Proud to have carried this Senate leadership priority, and grateful to TEDCO for their partnership in bringing this to life.

Truly humbled to be recognized by the OBGC - Olney Boys & Girls Community Sports Association with the dedication of the “Craig J. Zucker Miracle Field.” This field will create opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in sports and experience the joy of play alongside their peers.

OBGC continues to be a cornerstone of our community, and I’m honored to support the incredible work they do every day.

Today, my synagogue was subjected to vandalism with anti Jewish hate. This does not define our community or our future. I stand with my community to denounce hate.

On his way to school Tuesday morning, Sen. Craig Zucker’s son saw through the bus window that Shaare Tefila Congregation’s signs had been vandalized.
