On Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at approximately 1059 hours, Ambulance 740, Aerial Tower 704, and Chief 704 responded to a Personal Injury Collision involving a cement truck at Georgia Ave and King William Drive. One occupant was transported to a local hospital.

On Sunday, May 3, 2026 at approximately 1545 hours, Sandy Spring Aerial Tower 704, Chief 704, and Chief 704 Bravo responded to assist with an animal rescue. Units found 4 baby ducks trapped in a storm drain. Various tools from Aerial Tower 704 and Animal Services were utilized. All 4 Ducks were rescued and reunited with their mom. Units cleared at approximately 1720 hours.

You can order online the day of or even the day before the fundraiser and give them your pick-up. time and date of pick up. If you call the order in, make sure to let them know it's for
the "SSVFD FUNDRAISER"
You may also use the APP and even have it delivered thru the APP. Just make
sure when using the APP to put "SSVFD" IN THE NOTES.
The fundraiser runs all day on FRIDAY, MAY 1 from 10am-9pm- so take a break!

The “Miles Across MedStar Health” initiative kicked off this week, with a team of runners traveling from Leonardtown through D.C. to Olney! Over four days—stopping at hospitals along the way to promote health and wellness.

We are thrilled to announce that Sandy Spring VFD has officially launched our new "Aquatic Response Division"! 🛥️🚒

Introducing Tower 740-B, our first-ever amphibious ladder truck, now fully deployed. Forget wading, now we just float to the scene! With custom front propellers and a shallow-draft hull, this modified Pierce Velocity is ready to handle Olney's deepest puddles and even that one bad drain on Route 108.
