Health Care is a top issue for most Marylanders. Costs have been skyrocketing, depressing wages and causing health care to become unaffordable to more and more people. Everyone is looking for a solution. Ben Jealous has a solution - Medicare for All. His plan, MD Care, is spelled out on his website.
Larry Hogan (who has no plan of his own) has made fun of Ben's plan, stating a study that showed that Medicare for All would cost the state of Maryland $24 Billion and the cost would bankrupt the state. What Hogan is not saying is that although the study did say that it would cost the state $24 Billion, that $24 Billion did not include what Marylander's are already paying in premiums, deductibles, copays and prescription drugs.
The study concluded that Marylanders are paying more than $24 Billion, and stated that the plan would save the state money. It also concluded that an average person would save $2,800 per person per year. Check out a summary of the study, along with a live stream of Ben (with a cameo appearance by Bernie Sanders) discussing Medicare for All and taking questions.
