Applications to the PWB December 2025 Flood Resilience Grant program are now open! The program makes emergency grants to local governments for public works projects made necessary by the December 2025 weather event.

Up to $10 million in grant funding is available on a non-competitive, first-come, first-served basis for projects that will result in long-term environmental benefits and increased resilience to the impacts of climate change.

We’re excited to report that our FY27 Construction funding cycle received 64 applications requesting $290 million! We also received 13 applications to the Pre-construction funding program requesting $4.7 million for Quarter 1 of FY27. Funding awards are anticipated to be announced in October. We look forward to supporting more Washington communities!

We thank Thurston Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 for hosting the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tanglewilde Mainline Replacement project. The PWB awarded $10 million to the project in 2024 to replace water main pipes, associated hydrants, valves, and service lines. Once complete, outcomes will include adequate fire protection in replaced zones, reduction in leak loss, reduction in outages and emergency repairs, and improved public water service.
