Hello Everyone!!! As you know, African Americans, Black people and people of color have been discriminated against based on how they choose to wear their hair (natural, braids, locs, extensions, etc.).

Companies/institutions have and/are creating policies and dress codes penalizing/harming employees and students causing undue stress instead of embracing differences. Statements by companies and institutions having hair standards for employees/students have been quoted as saying an employee/student is “un-professional” “unkempt” and “not in line with our dress code policy” when wearing natural hairstyles, which equates to discrimination on the basis of race.

Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., a hearing on HB 2602, Hair discrimination, will be at JLOB (John L. O’Brien) hearing room A.

See you all there in support of the Bill. Let’s stop hair discrimination and respect the culture, while releasing harm!
