Early this morning, Nisqually officers were dispatched to a possible vehicle prowl in progress. It was reported that a male and female were attempting to open doors on other cars. While in route, officers were updated that a female had gained access to one of the vehicles. At this point, a few TCSO deputies also responded to assist. When officers arrived, the couple was back in their vehicle and attempted to leave. When officers contacted the male driver, he was uncooperative and attempted to resist when officers tried to detain him.

After both subjects were detained, officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun (male is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a gun), multiple bags of narcotics, a scale, several ID’s and credit/debit cards that did not belong to them, multiple prescription pill bottles not belonging to either of them, postal keys and a large amount of mail addressed to multiple different people (none of them being the suspects). Great job officers, and also a thank you to the TCSO deputies who assisted. Your help was greatly appreciated!

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 10:30 AM, Nisqually Police Officers were involved in an incident at the Red Wind Casino. They attempted to make contact with a vehicle whose registered owner had a confirmed warrant.
As officers approached with lights activated, the vehicle attempted to flee, resulting in a reckless pursuit onto Yelm Highway, causing significant damage. The vehicle ultimately became stuck in a ditch, prompting the driver to flee on foot. Officers successfully apprehended the suspect without further incident.
During the incident, the driver claimed to have ingested fentanyl, necessitating medical attention. Additionally, upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded 40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, narcotics paraphernalia, various narcotics, electronic devices, and identification cards not belonging to the suspect.
Charges, including felony eluding and possession with intent to distribute narcotics, have been filed against the suspect. Further charges may be pending as potential victims are identified.
