Thurston County is looking for volunteers to join the Treatment Sales Tax (TST) Advisory Committee.

Since 2009, TST funds have helped local programs that support residents with mental health and substance use needs in local treatment courts, youth and family services, and community-based care... the goal is to improve lives, reduce jail stays, and lower emergency room costs.

The TST advisory committee is made up of seven to nine committee members who review data, help identify gaps in local services, and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on how these funds are used.

Who Can Serve?

👉You must be a Thurston County resident.
👉You must have no recent or current financial or personal interest in organizations receiving TST funds.
👉You can commit to meeting roughly 8–10 times per year (3-year terms).

This Wednesday, June 24 is Thurston County Reunification Day - a time to celebrates kids and families alongside the incredible community partners who backed them up every step of the way.

The party goes from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia where there will be food, games, and lots of smiles. 🎈🎉

County facilities are closed today, Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth as we honor this historic day of freedom and emphasize our commitment to an inclusive community.

Emergency Services are Unaffected and fully operational.

The Building Development Center and permitting counter will close at 1:00 PM TODAY, Thursday, June 18, 2026, due to software security upgrades. We will be closed on Friday, June 19 for the Juneteenth holiday. Regular hours (8 a.m.–4 p.m.) resume Monday, June 22.

Your County road crews will soon begin chip seal work on roads across southeast areas of the Thurston County. This important maintenance helps extend the life of the pavement, helps save taxpayer dollars, and creates safer roads for your commute.
