After a unanimous vote, we officially welcome K.D. Chapman-See as the new Director of the Office of Financial Management (OFM)! As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we recognize that K.D. is one of few women to have served as OFM Director. We honor her groundbreaking achievement and the legacy she continues.

With years of experience working at the intersection of policy, budget, and governance, KD has built a career focused on finding common ground and delivering meaningful outcomes. She served in the House as a Caucus Policy Director, Senior Caucus Analyst, and as OFM's Legislative Liaison before being appointed agency director in January.

Explore all the ways the Climate Commitment Act has benefitted our communities! From assistance for electricity bills, to replacing failing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation in schools and investing in pedestrian safety infrastructure like crosswalks and signage, learn about all the amazing projects this policy has funded in our new online dashboard.

This dashboard shows where and how agencies have spent funds from CCA accounts, including information about emissions reductions, supportive Tribal resolutions, and benefits to vulnerable populations within overburdened communities.

🌍✨ Exciting news: the budget and funding interactive map for the HEAL Act is here! 🎉

This interactive map will track funding for projects benefiting our environment. It will specifically highlight how much funding goes to overburdened communities, ensuring transparency and accountability in our environmental justice efforts.

The HEAL Act aims to uplift all communities, especially those most affected by environmental challenges. This new tool will empower you to see where investments are being made and help advocate for equitable distribution of resources. Check it out today:

With election day behind us, we want to take a moment to reflect on what the results mean for us here at the Office of Financial Management. We share the sentiment expressed by new Governor-elect Bob Ferguson, who said, “State government should be an advocate for all Washingtonians.”

In addition to the change in our state's leadership, several important statewide initiatives were on the ballot. Voters chose to uphold critical programs, including the capital gains tax, the Climate Commitment Act, and WA Cares (the long-term care insurance program).

Despite the changes happening, our mission remains clear: to build a more equitable future for all Washingtonians. This is our ultimate goal, and we remain focused on it as we work to support our colleagues across state agencies and serve the diverse communities throughout Washington.
