3 of our Volunteer Recruits have officially begun their journey in the Thurston County Volunteer Fire Academy!

Over the next 5 months, they’ll dedicate several evenings and weekends to the classroom and drill grounds, learning the essential skills of firefighting.

We’re proud of their commitment and excited to support them as they prepare to serve our community as Volunteer Firefighter/EMTs. Best of luck on this amazing journey!

State Mobilization Update:

Both of our deployed rigs and crews remain assigned to the Little Giant Fire in Chelan County, currently estimated at 142,000+ acres.

Our crews have primarily been assigned to holding and securing the current fire edge, helping keep the fire within established containment lines.

The Washington State Fire Mobilization Plan enables a rapid response when local resources are overwhelmed by wildfires, disasters, or other major incidents. Under this plan, the RFA is reimbursed by the State or DNR for the personnel and apparatus sent to assist.

We couldn’t be more proud of our crews for stepping up at a moment’s notice for deployment. They remain committed to protecting lives, property, and natural resources.
