RESCUE RETRIEVER Excelsior Hose Company No. 1 of Olyphant, PA will be selling the Rescue Retriever, which is a smoke detector invented by 2 pet owning firefighters from Avondale Fire & Medical in Arizona.
The Rescue Retriever is a paw shaped smoke detector that, when activated, emits a strobing light that cuts through a smoke-filled environment for firefighters to navigate.
Unlike your typical residential smoke detector, the Rescue Retriever does not emit sound, so it will not scare your pets. The Rescue Retriever can easily be attached to crates, walls, doors, and other surfaces, and should be placed anywhere your pet might typically be located, such as a crate, room, or hiding place.
When activated, the Rescue Retriever can also be detected by a firefighter’s thermal imaging camera, giving firefighters a better indication of the proximity of your pet’s location.
Firefighters should follow their standard operating procedures, prioritizing life safety and their own safety. A portion of proceeds will go towards the Excelsior Hose Co. No. 1, Olyphant, PA 18447.
