🇵🇸 Celebrate Palestinian Children’s Day with Nebraskans for Palestine

Join us on April 18, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 PM at Memorial Park (Omha) as we come together in solidarity with Palestinian children.

We’ll gather at the amphitheater at 2:00 PM for activities, followed by a children’s march at 3:00 PM through the park toward Dodge Street (~30 minutes).
Let’s show that youth and families in Nebraska care about Palestine ✊

Free & open to the public
(All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

✨ Activities (starting at 2 PM):
• Sign making
• Letter/card writing to state representatives
• Bubbles + sidewalk chalk
• Lemonade stand fundraiser

🎤 Youth Voices
We’re looking for school-aged kids to share a short message (1–5 min) on why Palestine matters to them.
Also looking for 3–5 youth volunteers to help with the lemonade stand!
👉 DM us or email to get involved

📍 Important Info
• No restrooms at Memorial Park (nearest: Elmwood Park or nearby businesses)
• Megaphones & drums will be used — limited earplugs available

Film Screening, "The Palestine Laboratory"
Thursday Feb 19th, 7:00 pm
1st Unitarian Church, 3114 Harney St

Based on the book by award-winning journalist Antony Loewenstein, The Palestine Laboratory reveals how Israel has turned Palestine into a testing ground for weapons and surveillance technologies. In two parts, the film first exposes how these tools are trialled on Palestinians, then follows their export across the world-from authoritarian regimes to Western democracies-entrenching systems of repression far beyond Palestine.

Film Screening
"We Never Left" A Film by Loulwa Khoury

Thursday, Jan 15th, 7:00 pm
1st Unitarian Church, 3114 Harney St.

Directed by Loulwa Khoury, We Never Left follows three Lebanese expats living in New York City as they fight for revolution in their homeland from afar. As Lebanon faces political upheaval, economic collapse, and mass protest, the film explores what it means to resist from exile, while dealing with personal reckonings and emotional ruptures unfold.

Caught between distance and devotion, the filmmakers and subjects confront questions of diaspora identity, responsibility, activism, and belonging. What it means to stay connected to home even when home feels impossibly far away.

Thrift4Gaza is back 🤍
A two-day community thrift fundraiser supporting on-the-ground organizations and families in Gaza.

🔸️Day 1: Donation Drop-Off & Sorting
Saturday, Jan 17 | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
St. Timothy Lutheran Church - North Entrance

We are accepting:
New & gently used, clean & washed adult clothing & jackets, books, games, accessories, and select small home items.

Our team will be sorting items as they’re dropped off, so donors are asked to stay while we go through items together. Anything we’re unable to accept will be returned to you the same day, so nothing is left behind.
To help keep this manageable for volunteers, we’re kindly asking for up to 2 bags per individual or family.

Items donated on day 1 will be sorted and sold at the Jan 24 thrift sale

🔸️Day 2: Thrift Sale
Saturday, Jan 24 | 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Cash & Venmo payments accepted.
Affordable pricing — while supplies last.

100% Proceeds will support on-the-ground organizations and families in Gaza.

Official submission of Palestine for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards (2025).

From Executive Producer Michael Moore, From Ground Zero is a powerful collection of 22 short films by Palestinian filmmakers living and creating under siege in Gaza. Through animation, documentary, fiction, and experimental cinema, these 3–6 minute stories capture daily life amid gen-cide — the grief, the resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of the people.

Despite impossible conditions, Gaza’s vibrant artistic voice shines through.
