This past winter, our community proved what's possible when we work together.
From November 2025 through April 2026, Threshold CoC and the City of Omaha led the OMA-EPP. We responded to 521 hotline reports connecting 69 unhoused neighbors with resources.
While the pilot has ended, the need hasn't. Street Outreach teams continue the work and rely on community support to keep showing up year-round.

🧭 One day. Hundreds of doors opened. A community coming together to make a difference.

Project Connect is a free, one-day community event that connects neighbors experiencing homelessness or housing instability with essential services—all in one welcoming location. More than 50 service providers will offer resources such as:

🏥 Healthcare and wellness services
🏠 Housing and shelter assistance
⚖️ Legal aid
📋 Medicaid and disability benefits assistance
💼 Employment and workforce support
🍽️ Food, beverages, and direct assistance

To make this day possible, we need volunteer navigators!

Navigators are paired one-on-one with participants, helping them move through the event, identify the services they need, and feel supported along the way. It’s a unique opportunity to experience Project Connect through the eyes of someone facing homelessness or housing instability—and to better understand the barriers our neighbors navigate every day.

You don’t need to be an expert. You simply need to be compassionate, dependable, and ready to help. Beginner and returning navigators are welcome, and training will be provided.

In the U.S., LGBTQIA2S+ 🏳️‍🌈youth can make up as many as 40% of the unhoused youth population, and youth aging out of foster care face some of the highest rates of housing instability of any group. Behind these numbers are young people navigating school, work, relationships, and their futures without the safety and stability of a place to call home.
Our CoC’s Youth Action Board brings young people with lived experience to the decision-making table, because the people closest to the problem are often closest to the solution. Learn more about our Action Boards at thresholdcoc.org/action-boards
