Holy Name Housing Corporation (HNHC) was established in 1982 by two Redemptorist priests of the Holy Name parish and a layman and long time resident of the North Omaha Holy Name Neighborhood. These residents wanted to reverse the deterioration that threatened their community by: rehabilitating substandard houses or constructing new homes that would provide home ownership opportunities for low and

moderate income households; by acting as an advocate for established neighborhoods; and by providing education that prepared low income families for home ownership as well as helped them sustain their investment. HNHC has demonstrated its commitment to the neighborhood as well as its capacity to develop quality affordable housing by:
• Renovating 224 and constructing 337 single family houses.
• Renovating an historic building as 37 units and constructing 36 cottages for low income seniors
• Providing financing ( formation of million dollar low interest mortgage pool and establishment of Omaha 100, a consortium of local financial institutions) and supportive services that would enable families to purchase their own homes
• Enabling reinvestment in the neighborhood by assisting 414 families to purchase HNHC homes
• Partnering with other organizations focused on revitalizing North Omaha neighborhoods.
