Parents - We want to hear from you at our FREE online parent support group on Wednesday June 3rd at noon!

• Is your child struggling at school due to behaviors?
• Is your child frequently being removed from their general education classroom?
• Are they spending significant time in a calm-down room, regulation room, timeout space, or other separate setting?
• Has the school discussed shortening your child's school day?
• Do you feel your child's behavioral needs are not being fully understood or supported?

We would love to hear from you!

Every behavior is communication, and students need appropriate supports, services, and interventions to be successful at school.

Come share your experiences with us:

• What are your child's strengths and needs?
• What supports and services are currently in place?
• What supports do you feel are missing?
• What questions or concerns do you have about your child's educational program or behavior intervention plan?

Join our support group to share experiences, learn about advocating for the services and supports your child may need to succeed, and connect with other families!

You are not alone, and your voice matters.

Parents - Check out how you can work on different executive functioning and life skills in the kitchen this summer with your kiddos! ☀️

Summer is a great time for youth and young adults with disabilities to practice important skills through fun, hands-on cooking activities.

Cooking helps develop skills such as:

Working Memory – Following recipes, remembering ingredients, and completing steps in order.

Impulse Control – Practicing kitchen safety, waiting for turns, and following directions before acting.

Planning & Organization – Gathering ingredients, preparing materials, and learning how to break a task into manageable steps.

Communication & Social Skills – Asking for help, sharing responsibilities, and working together with family members.

Self-Determination & Independence – Making choices, solving problems, and building confidence through successful experiences.

The best part? Cooking activities can be adapted to match each child's abilities, interests, and support needs.

Whether it's making a sandwich, baking cookies, preparing a snack, or helping with dinner, every kitchen task is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Small steps in the kitchen today can help build greater independence for tomorrow! 🙌💜

Never miss an opportunity to make a student feel better about themself!

When students feel seen, valued, and capable, everything can change. Their confidence grows, their behavior improves, and learning becomes easier.

Students who feel connected and encouraged are more likely to participate, build relationships, and believe in themselves.

A few kind words, encouragement, or genuine understanding can have a lasting impact
because students learn best in environments where they feel safe, supported, and respected. 💜

Non-speaking does not mean:
—Non-thinking
—Non-hearing
—Non-understanding
—Non-feeling

Spoken words are just one of the many ways we share who we are. When we look beyond words, we open the door to deeper understanding and connection.

Communication lives in eye contact, gestures, expressions, movement, laughter, silence, and presence. Every person has thoughts, feelings, preferences, and a story worth hearing.

When we learn to listen with our hearts, not just our ears, we begin to see that every person has a voice, even if it sounds different than expected.

Connection is not measured by spoken words alone. It’s built through patience, respect, understanding, and believing that everyone deserves to be heard. 💜
