Community Composting is Here!
Thanks to a grant, The Leavenworth Neighborhood association has community compost bins available to use by neighborhood and surrounding area! The bins are located in the Hands to Harvest Community Garden (1113 S 31st St, off of Pacific) near the back (northeast side) of the property. The bins are picked up and cleaned on Tuesdays by Hillside Solutions.

Do’s and Don’ts of Composting
These bins can essentially include anything that was once alive: Food scraps (including meat and bones), paper products that can’t be recycled (e.g. greasy pizza box), coffee filters, chopsticks, etc. For space capacity, we don’t want to take on yard waste at the moment. Please do not include any plastic bags with the compost, unless they are labeled biodegradable.

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER TREE PLANTERS!

We are excited to open up registration for our Volunteer-based tree planting at Dewey Park, Leavenworth Park and along the Turner Blvd Trail.

This planting will take place on Sunday October 6, 2019 from 1-3pm.

Please feel free to share this registration link with your neighborhood association and residents. Registration is limited to 45 for this planting, and will close once we have reached that point.

We hope you can join us for this wonderful neighborhood event!

*Cirino's has closed and the property has sold. This is not the same owner. We miss Dee and Cirino's faces in the neighborhood.*

Please sign this petition against a package liquor license at 1107 Park Avenue. Our neighborhood already has 3 other opportunities to purchase off-sale alcohol. This addition would only hurt all the work we have done to keep our streets clean and safe. Please take a moment to sign and share!

Our friends at inCOMMON our hosting a fitness fair all day on March 22nd. That's right all day! Come down for a few hours, one activity, or the whole day - it's free! Fitness + neighbors = a fun time!

This should be good! Come check out some great food.

Our food contest event is almost here. We need your support by helping us to decide which dish has the best taste in the Park Avenue neighborhood. On this Friday, around 10 neighbors will be cooking a dish and giving free samples from it. The dish with the most votes will win a $100 gift card. Come and taste these dishes and give your vote to the one you believe is the best one. We will have food for sale too. This event is free to the general public.

Halloween starts early! Come down to 1340 Park Avenue for Trunk or Treat on Monday from 4:30-7. inCOMMON Community Development is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat event with food vendors, candy, and costume contest. Be there or be square!
