Enjoyed spreading the word about foster care at the Farmers Market! A huge thank you to the Montclair Farmers Market for allowing us to share about NOVA and raise awareness about the urgent need for foster parents. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and encourage individuals and families to become foster parents!

In February alone, NOVA had to turn away over 150 referrals for youth because there simply were not enough foster homes available.

These are young people who needed a safe place to go… and we didn’t have a home to offer them.

These children aren’t looking for perfection—they just need someone willing to care, listen, and provide a safe place to land during a difficult time in their lives. One caring adult or family can make a life-changing difference.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering a child of any age, please consider taking the next step! Your home could be the one that changes everything for a young person who needs it most.

What a fantastic gathering in the Capitol today to urge passage of this legislative session! A huge thank you to the state senators, advocates, parents and early care and education professionals who stood to protect assistance so thousands of parents can remain in the workforce.

Thank you also to State Senator Wendy DeBoer who today designated LB304 as her priority bill for this year.

No one is going to be able to fix the system alone, but we can keep showing up for the kids who don’t have a choice to live in the brokenness.

Behind every case number is a real child—with hopes, fears & a story that matters. When you’re not living this life, it’s easy to turn your head & look away, like it’s someone else’s problem. But once you know their name, see their face & hear their story—you can’t unsee what these children & families go through.

The system might be broken, but those kids are not—& that’s why we keep showing up, fighting for every single one.

Somewhere today, a child is packing their belongings into a trash bag because they can't stay where they are.
They don't know where they're going.
They don't know who will answer the door.
They just know they need someone to care.

You could be that someone.

Foster parents aren't superheroes- they're ordinary people who open their hearts and homes to children in need of safety, love, and stability. If you've ever wondered, "Could I make a difference?" - the answer is yes.

At NOVA, we walk alongside foster parents every step of the way- offering training, resources, and a team that is supportive. You don't have to be perfect- just willing to open your heart and home.

NOVA will be starting their next foster parent training on August 18th from 4:30-7:30pm.

Contact us for more information about becoming a foster parent at 402-991-8572 or visit us on our website at www.novatc.org.
