Thank you to everyone who helped us kick off this year’s campaign! It was an energizing morning that brought together companies, nonprofits, donors, volunteers and community leaders. The panel discussion, moderated by Ben Doody, Executive Editor at the Omaha World-Herald, provided an inside look at how United Way of the Midlands is connecting people, partners and resources to strengthen our community.

If you’re looking for a way to give back and make a difference, United Way makes it easy to get involved in a way that works for you, your team or your organization. However you choose to get involved, your support becomes part of a larger network of people and organizations working together to build a stronger, more resilient metro. Let’s carry this momentum forward and make a difference together.

We’re proud to celebrate the State of Nebraska’s proclamation recognizing JAG Nebraska and its impact on young people across our state! 🎉

Thank you to Governor Jim Pillen for his ongoing commitment to Nebraska’s young people and support of JAG Nebraska.
At the proclamation event, Janelle Duray, President & CEO of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), shared her confidence in JAG Nebraska; JAG Nebraska student Aiden Richardson shared his personal JAG story; and Emily Dickens of SHRM highlighted their Education-to-Employment (E2) Pipeline Initiative.

This school year, JAG Nebraska will serve more than 5,500 students through 90 programs statewide. With a 99% graduation rate and more than 2,600 employer engagement activities last school year, JAG Nebraska continues to help students build the skills, connections and confidence they need for success after high school.

We’re grateful to our state and community partners, employers, educators and supporters who continue to invest in Nebraska’s next generation. Learn more at https://hubs.la/Q04vKMKL0

As students across our community return to the classroom having access to essential hygiene items can help them feel confident, comfortable and ready to learn. During this year's Shine Bright event ,358 volunteers from 38 partners came together at the Mid-America Center to prepare more than 5,400 hygiene kits. The kits will be available throughout the school year when school counselors and nurses identify a student who needs them.

Thanks to the care and generosity of our sponsors and volunteers, schools have an important resource ready to help students when a need arises — giving them access to essential hygiene items so they can focus on learning, growing and reaching their potential.

Be part of something bigger on September 11! Day of Caring is United Way of the Midlands' largest community-wide day of service where individuals, families and teams of coworkers and friends can volunteer at our nonprofit partners across Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties. There are opportunities for everyone, so celebrate the spirit of volunteerism in the metro and sign up today! Day of Caring - United Way of the Midlands (https://hubs.la/Q04vlPm60)

With this year marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we are proud to be a part of the community-wide initiative: Heartland Honors 9/11, a volunteer-led effort bringing the Omaha metro together to remember, reflect and say thank you to service members, veterans and first responders through acts of service and remembrance.

FNBO + United Way of the Midlands = 1,700 kits packed for our community! 💚

A huge thank you to FNBO employees who rolled up their sleeves and gave their time to pack kits supporting Youth Emergency Services, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands and Siena Francis House.

Through UWM’s Good on the Go program, we bring volunteer projects directly to the workplace — making it easy for employees to connect, give back and make a meaningful difference together.

Thank you, FNBO, for putting your generosity into action!

What a beautiful day for the Applied Underwriters Invitational golf tournament out at Shadow Ridge Country Club! We’re honored to be the local beneficiary of this world-class tournament, which supports United Way of the Midlands’ mission to help local families meet basic needs and achieve long-term stability. We are so grateful to Applied Underwriters and James Davenport for bringing this tournament home to Omaha. They continue to show what it means to give back locally — with heart, purpose, and pride in their hometown. It's a great reminder that there are so many ways to get involved and give back.

It was such an inspiring and energizing day as we gathered to kick off this year’s United Way of the Midlands campaign! We came together to celebrate the caring spirit and generous support of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro with partners who are ready to really lean in and share a commitment to making a difference.

There are many ways to give back and UWM makes it easy to get involved. Through giving, volunteering, sponsorships, employee engagement or other opportunities -- there are many ways to support our community.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us today! We are especially grateful for our campaign chairs Paul and Julie Maass of Scoular. We’re looking forward to everything we can accomplish together in the year ahead.

Our Internal Campaign, Carnival United, is off to an amazing start! Last week’s cookout and pie-in-the-face were a tremendous hit (literally!). A huge thank you to Mark Montgomery, Manny Macapinlac, and Liz Christensen for graciously taking the pies in good humor—you made the day unforgettable. And behind all the fun is a reminder that our entire team at United Way of the Midlands is committed to the work we do, and we’re invested in creating a stronger community by working together with you. It's one more way we come together to make a difference in the community we care so deeply about.

STRONGER TOGETHER
A huge thank you to the Top 100 Partners from the past fiscal year! With the incredible generosity and caring spirit of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro, United Way of the Midlands raised more than $30 million for our community. This achievement reflects the commitment of individual donors, corporate and government partners, family foundations, campaign leadership, our Board of Directors and so many others who came together to make a meaningful difference.

And now we're gearing up to do it again. This Thursday, we will gather to launch a new season of giving at our Campaign Kickoff and celebrate the partnerships that continue to carry this impact forward. View the full list of Top 100 Partners at https://hubs.la/Q04tvgQ30
