🩷 This mastectomy recovery bag is headed to Sioux City for a woman having surgery next week.

This is one of our most popular and well-utilized services. Each year, we provide approximately 150 surgery recovery and chemotherapy bags to individuals going through some of life’s most difficult moments.

Right now, we are in need of mastectomy pillows to include in our surgery recovery bags. Our inventory is getting low, and we would love to replenish our supply!

If you or someone you know enjoys sewing and would be interested in helping us make these pillows, please send us a message. Your time and talent can make such a meaningful difference to someone during their recovery. 🩷

Thank you for helping us continue to support our community!

🎗️ Appendix Cancer Awareness Month: Know the Signs 🎗️

Appendix cancer is rare and often hard to detect because symptoms can be subtle—or mistaken for other conditions.

⚠️ Possible signs may include:
• Persistent or worsening abdominal pain
• Bloating or a feeling of fullness
• Changes in bowel habits
• Nausea or vomiting
• Unexplained weight changes
• Abdominal swelling due to fluid buildup

Because symptoms are often unclear, appendix cancer is sometimes found incidentally during surgery or imaging.

💡 If symptoms persist or worsen, trust your instincts and talk to a healthcare provider. Awareness matters—even for rare cancers.

🧬 Did You Know? Your Genes Are Protected by Law 🧬

The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) protects you if you choose to get genetic testing for hereditary cancer or other conditions.

💡 What it does:
Prevents health insurers from using your genetic information to deny coverage or charge higher rates
Prevents employers from using genetic info in hiring, firing, or promotion decisions
⚠️ Important: GINA does not cover life, disability, or long-term care insurance—so it’s good to plan ahead.

Knowing your genetic risk is powerful—and GINA ensures you can get tested without fear of discrimination. 💙
