Save the Date🗓: This Friday join us to hear about the US Air Force Academy and the fifty-year story of women who came of age while inside there, in the brand new novel Necessary Turbulence. MaxieJane Frazier, one of the authors, will be joining us at 3:30pm on September 4th to talk about the book, read a passage, and at the end we will have a book signing!
The book is currently in the library system for you to place on hold. You can also purchase a copy at the event or stop by True North Bookstore in Omak to see about picking up a copy!

RIP Dolly Parton. Stop by the library to learn more about this amazing person and to sign up your child under 5 for the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. You can sign up at the library, Okanogan County Child Development Association - OCCDA , or directly through the Imagination Library's website. She will be sorely missed.

The Omak Library Project – straight from us📚

You may have heard bits and pieces about the project timeline here and there. We wanted to share an update from the source!

The design process is about 60% complete, we expect to advertise for bids in November with construction beginning in early to mid-2027. Our hope is to complete the project by fall 2027. 🎉

The renovation is funded by the Washington State Department of Commerce, Paul Lauzier Foundation, American Library Association, NCW Libraries, and local donors. The Department of Commerce grant has schedule requirements. They have reviewed and approved our timeline.

Rising construction costs meant reviewing the design carefully. The heart of the project stayed: more square footage for patron use, a meeting room available after hours, ADA compliant restrooms, and two private study rooms.
