After countless tries of trying to make this post, none of them felt right. So, here it goes, we will no longer be having a Halloween or Christmas Light show.
When I first started this hobby, one of the most important things to me was not impacting my neighbors. I understand, that the lights, the traffic, and bright lights may not be for everyone. The last thing I would want is for a neighbor to dread living near me. On Sunnybrook Drive, the neighborhood was Great! Everyone enjoyed the lights and the rest of the neighbors got in on the decorating.
When we moved to Maricopa Drive, we were also welcomed by the next door neighbors, people down the street and others throughout the neighborhood and was thanked numerous times about how much they loved the light show. Unfortunately, there were a few that did not feel the same way. I was able to get over the confrontation during last years Halloween setup, and even the intimidating stares while setting up for Christmas. But, the fact that it continued anytime I was outside was the last straw.
We have decided to sell our house and continue the plan of building our next home. We hope that we can find an area that will accommodate the light show and have a great neighborhood to support it.
We are so grateful to anyone who came out to see the show and who donated to our causes. It really was a labor of love and we are so thankful to all of the support over the years.
