Weather Statement - Delayed Start

Onalaska ISD will have a 2 hour delayed start tomorrow, Thursday, September 3rd, to allow time to ensure bus route safety due to localized flooding and campus readiness.
Before school activities are canceled. Buses/drop-off will run 2 hours delayed and dismissal time is unchanged.
We’ll share updates as needed.

This morning, Polk County Judge, Sydney Murphy, issued a Local Declaration of Disaster due to the severe weather impacts in the County caused by Tropical Storm Edouard overnight.

-FM 1276 @ FM 943 - high water on road

-FM 1276 @ Double "A" Lakes - high water but passable

-FM 350 South @ Florida's Kitchen - high water on road but passable

-Lazy Oak Rd. tree on road

-Byrd Rd. at Hwy 146 high water on roads but passable

-Stewart Road/Wiggins Village #1 several roads under water but passable

-Hwy 190 E at Richardson Agriculture Tree and Powerlines Down

-FM 3126 at Blanchard Baptist water on roadway

-1988 at Long King Creek water on roadway

- E Soda at Bluff Creek - impassable

-Double Branch Rd - impassable at Firelane

-Tom Cummings and Hwy 190 East power line down

-Wilson Rd. Trees and debris down -- impassable

-9:33 AM Moore Rd between FM1276 and Camp Ruby Water over road and rising. Take Caution.

-9:28 AM Bridge at McManus Rd Impassable- Road Closed

- 9:24 AM Water over the roads 59 S, South of Corrigan- Take Caution Very Dangerous

- 9:03 AM PCSO reports water over road on 59N@ 190 by What-a-Burger.

-FM 352 East of 59 High Water in several areas along FM 352. Take Caution.

-8:55 a.m. Polk County Sheriff's Office reports Johnson Rd is impassable.

-8:43 AM Polk County Sheriff's Office reports water over the road at the following locations:
Walnut Ridge @ Choates Creek -Impassable
Holly Grove- Impassable

-8:20 AM Polk County Sheriff's Office reports water over the road
350 at Long Tom, water is high, but passable

-8:08 AM Polk County Sheriff's Office Reports
Hwy 190 @ Neal Rd- Water Over Rd
Nettles Cemetery Rd- CLOSED due to water over road
Sundance @ Mangum CLOSED due to large tree over road

-6:54 AM Drive Texas is reporting water over the road for the following roadways:
Hwy 59 @ Laurelia Loop- Southbound Lanes
FM 942 @ Hickman Creek- North and Southbound Lanes
FM 1276 @ Moore Road- North and Southbound Lanes

-6:13 AM Drive Texas is reporting water over the road in the Northbound Lanes of HWY 146 near E Garner St

-5:50 AM- Polk County Sheriff's Office reports water over the following roadways:
Baker & Ole Long Pull
Pichetto Trail
350 N @ Meadow Creek

-5:40 AM- Polk County Sheriff's Office reports trees on road ways at the following:
HWY 287 & FM 62
HWY 190 & Tom Cummings
FM 350 & Johnson Dr
FM 350 N & Colita Loop

-5:33 AM- Water over road on Johnson Branch Rd.

-4:40 AM- Drive Texas is reporting water over road on FM 943 and Menard Creek close to Moore-McBride-Lively Ln.

-Drive Texas is reporting water over the road on FM 1276 by Double A Lake Estates.

-PCSO reports water over the road on N Washington Ave near the Sheriff's Office.
