Hwy 37 at Hwy 175 from Turin to Soldier will be closed to thru traffic starting June 12. This project may last 4 days. Please use Hwy 175 to Hwy E34 to Ute and then Hwy 183 to Soldier or another alternative route for the duration of the project.

Monona County Sheriff's Office was contacted by Tristan Pugi, who is a student from Estonia, attending the TTK University of Applied Sciences, and is working his way through college. Tristan wanted to let the citizens of Monona County know that he will be in the county doing door-to-door sales, helping families with education. When Tristan is going door to door, he asks that if you are simply not interested in his products, just let him know, and he will bid you a good day and move on. 📚

The car he is driving is a gray Chevrolet Blazer, plate BCZ829 and it will display ‘Southwestern Advantage’ logos. 🚗

Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Monona County Abstract on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Please come help celebrate Janet Stukenholtz retirement and see their new location.

In September, 2025, the Monona County Abstract Co. moved from 708 Iowa Avenue, where the business has been since 1902. They moved to their new location at 904 Iowa Avenue, giving them added space and a new, refreshing look. Janet Stukenholtz has worked as an abstracter for 30 years and will be retiring at the end of May. Please come celebrate the new location and Janet’s retirement on May 29th from 9:30-10:30 am.

Monona County Roads will be doing shoulder maintenance on K45 from Onawa to Whiting 5/27/26. The road will be reduced to 1 lane at times.
