Saturday, August 22nd Onabike ###IV registration starts at 8:00 a.m. At the Onawa Library with the ride starting at 9:00 a.m.

Saturday, August 22nd Paw Patrol story time at the Onawa Aquatic Center 11:30 a.m. Friends of the Onawa Public Library will be reading a story, $5 to swim and meet some Paw Patrol characters.

Sunday, August 23rd "Moo Whoo" story time at the Onawa Public Library 1:00 p.m. With Pixie Ponie's petting zoo. Free event sponsored by the Friends of the Onawa Public Library.

Wednesday, August 26th Downtown Coffee & Cream Story Time with crafts and a sweet treat 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday, August 26th McDonald's free senior breakfast at the Onawa Community Center 9:30 a.m.

Iowa Theater will be showing Spiderman Brand New Day.

There will not be Chamber Coffee this Friday, August 7th due to the Chamber Golf Tournament.

Events:

Today, Thursday August 6th Constellation Scandinavian music at the Onawa Library 5:00 p.m.

Friday, August 7th Chamber Annual Golf Tournament at the Onawa Country Club. Start time is 9:30 a.m.

Don't forget to participate in the "Dog Days of Summer Bingo" event going on until Saturday. Stop and grab a bingo card at any of the following businesses, get a sticker from each business to get a black out to win $100 in Chamber Bucks and other great prizes. Bingo card and information attached. There will also be a free movie Saturday Morning at 10:00 a.m. At the Iowa Theater sponsored by Onawa Business Alliance and Gary Linder.

Iowa Theater will be showing Moana Live Action.

Chamber Coffee and ribbon cutting will be held at Spartan Nutrition (821 Iowa Ave) tomorrow Friday, July 31st from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Please come and help welcome them to Onawa and the Chamber.

Bingo event August 5-8. Each participating business will have a spot on the
bingo card. Once you get a black out, or all spaces filled in, please drop your
card off at JJ’s Treasures & More to be entered into a drawing for several
different prizes. Customers do not need to purchase anything from the business.
Bingo cards can be picked up at any of the following participating business.

The Monona County Fair Board has asked to have a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, July 7th at 7:00 p.m. This will be to recognize the new grandstands and bleachers. The ribbon cutting will take place in front of the bleachers before the opening ceremonies.

Let's pack the house and show support for all the hard work that has went into rebuilding the grandstands and help kick off a great week for the Monona County Fair!

Chamber Coffee will be hosted by the Friends of the Onawa Public Library on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Come and see the musical garden, butterfly garden and help kick off the summer reading program for the kids.

Thursday, June 11th the American Legion Post and Auxiliary will be hosting a Flag Retirement ceremony and pot luck at the Monona County Fair Grounds at 6:00 PM.

Thursday, June 11th the Monona County Libraries & Monona County Conservation are hosting our annual Night Hike in the Whiting Woods. Pre-hike activities start at 8 followed by the hike through the woods with some new stations to experience! Everyone is welcome!!!

Friday, June 12th Burgess Golf Tournament in Mapleton 9:30 a.m.

Saturday, June 13th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM Jordan's Sportscards and Loess Hills Pet Collective will be hosting a Pokémon day! Everyone is welcome and there will be door prizes to win!!!

Saturday, June 13th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Teens' Tacos and Trivia night! All 6th through 12th graders welcome to join Megan and Rachel for yummy tacos-in-a-bag, trivia, and other fun games! Free!

Sunday, June 14th from 10 - 4 (come and go as you please) Fiber Arts Workshop. Join us with your works in progress, show and tell, or just to visit!

Looking for something to do this Sunday afternoon? The Summer reading program kick off is this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Onawa Public Library with the Farm to Fork Adventures in Iowa and then fun in the library yard (or inside if it's raining). They are having Pixie's Pony Tales, Learning for Life, Funktastic photos has big games, Barn Loft, yard games and much more fun.

Come help kick off a great start to the Summer Reading Program at the Onawa Public Library.
