💚 - Help Them Connect.

You don’t have to be their only support — help build their safety net.

Be the 1 to:
✔ Encourage them to call or text 988.
✔ Help them connect with a mental health professional.
✔ Explore local community resources.
✔ Create a safety plan together.

Ask:
• Are you currently seeing a mental health provider?
• Is that something you’d be open to?
• Who could you call if things feel overwhelming?

Work with them to create a simple safety plan:
• Warning signs they’re entering a crisis
• Coping strategies
• People they can call
• Professional resources
• Steps to reduce access to lethal means during high-risk moments

Lethal means safety remains important here. If they have access to highly lethal methods — such as fi****ms or large quantities of medication — talk about safe storage, temporary transfer, or other ways to create time and distance during a crisis. Even small barriers can save lives.

Research on the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline shows that people who contact the Lifeline often feel less depressed, less suicidal, less overwhelmed, and more hopeful after speaking with trained counselors. Listening without judgment and helping create a network of support makes a measurable difference.

Connection protects.
Hope grows in community.
And no one should navigate a crisis alone.
