STAND Schools Together Allowing No Drugs School drug testing is just one of the functions we serve under the larger umbrella of alcohol and drug prevention.

STAND is a coalition of community organizations, businesses, and individuals focused on the health and well-being of the youth in Scott County, Tennessee. Part of what we do includes sponsoring prescription drug take-back events, advocate for policy changes related to drug and alcohol ordinances, work with local law-enforcement agencies, and meet with community leaders and citizens to shape drug a

nd alcohol policies. Community involvement is crucial to continued success and we welcome all who share our passion for keeping our youth safe and our community healthy. You can contribute to this success by getting involved. Click on the Get Involved link at the top of this page to learn how you can help build a brighter future for our youth. This project is funded in part under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Due to the immense (and very much needed) rain, we are unfortunately having to reschedule our Coalition Carnival. ☔️

Please hear this: this event is absolutely still happening. 🎡 Our Back-to-School Carnival will now take place in July, and we will announce the official date as soon as possible.

We want to graciously thank our students, community members, and partners for understanding this necessary decision. You are the reason this carnival continues to be such a success, and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you in July. ❤️

Everyone deserves to feel supported in their mental health journey - especially our youth. Navigating an ever-changing world and dealing with the emotions that come with it can be difficult for seasoned adults, so just imagine the stress that places on a growing mind! 🤯

This Mental Health Awareness Month, commit to checking in with your child and with yourself. These conversations are where real change happens, and where real support can change a life. 💚

Over the past week, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating our graduating seniors during the Ayer’s Foundation Senior Signing Day and High School Awards Day Ceremonies. As we say goodbye to the OHS seniors tonight at graduation, we are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and achievements.

We also want to congratulate Junior Board Members Hannah Foster (OHS) and Justice Duncan (SHS) for being selected as this year’s recipients of the STAND Scholarship! 🎓

STAND Executive Director Trent Coffey, Prevention Coordinator Jagger Coffey, and Youth Board President Hannah Foster had the incredible honor of attending the 2026 National Drug Control Strategy Summit at the White House in Washington, D.C.

We are incredibly thankful to National Drug Czar Sara Carter and the ONDCP team for continuing to listen to rural voices and recognize the work happening here in Scott County.

We are especially proud of Hannah Foster, who has been an incredible coalition leader and Board Chair. From helping bring White House representatives to Scott County in September to now representing our community in D.C., she continues to prove that young people can create real change.

What a way to finish out the year. 🌎🤍💙

Yesterday marked our final coalition meeting of the year, and we couldn’t be more proud of these students who continue using their voices to confront the issues impacting their community.

This month, our students highlighted Foster Care, Child Abuse & Neglect, and Mental Health Awareness. Our Foster Care Committee leader, Justice Duncan, led an activity where each committee painted a house to represent the “village” it takes to raise a healthy child. It was a powerful reminder that prevention cannot happen unless trauma is acknowledged, addressed, and understood.

Healthy communities begin with healthy children, and these students are helping build that future every single day. 💙🤍🌎
