Lynnette Hughes Moore Obituary
Lynnette Hughes Moore passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on Monday, August 31, at the age of 82.
She was born on December 23, 1943, in Pembroke, Georgia. She and her dear husband Lawrence raised their family in Springfield, Georgia in the early years of their marriage. They then began traveling for work, briefly making homes in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama before ultimately settling in the Holly Springs area of Straight Mountain.
Lynnette loved to be a helping hand wherever she was needed, and was quick to offer anything she had to help ease another’s burden. She loved to cook big meals, to feed those she loved, and there was always an extra seat at the table because anyone was welcome at her house. She always grew the most beautiful flowers and plants in her yard, with a few tomatoes and vegetables added in the summer. She kept the hummingbirds well fed and loved to paint, sew, and make crafts. Above all though, she deeply loved and cared for her family. She wanted nothing more than for her family to be all together and happy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lawrence Moore and her parents Beulah Bacon Hughes and Gariel Edwin Hughes.
She is survived by her sisters Carol Kelly, Polly Stewart, and Dean Partain; her son, Timmy Moore and wife Tammy Moore; daughter, Terrie Gargus and husband Mark Gargus; grandchildren, Chase Moore and wife Becca Moore, Holly Mann and husband David Mann, Taylor Gargus and wife Madison Gargus; and great-grandchildren, Oliver, Arthur, and Bennett Moore; Emmy, Maverick, and Maggie Mann; Eli, Owen, and Crue Gargus.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at Lemley Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00pm to 5:00pm with the service immediately following. The service will be officiated by Brother Ray Blanton, Brother Mark Lacks, and Brother Jim Marsh.
