🍂🐮 The Unadilla Head Start had a BLAST exploring the ! 🎃🌽

The children had so much fun petting the cows and learning about what cows eat, how to care for them, and all the delicious foods we get from the milk they produce. 🥛🧀

The fun continued with a corn maze, corn pit, and hayride! 🚜🌾 To top off our exciting day, every child went home with a FREE pumpkin and a goody bag! 🎃🍬

What a wonderful day filled with learning, laughter, and fall fun! ❤️🍁

The City of Oneonta has received funding from New York State to provide financial assistance for necessary repairs to eligible owner-occupied homes and rental properties with one to four units. The Housing Rehabilitation Program assists low-to-moderate-income households with improvements such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, windows, and other repairs. Assistance typically ranges from $30,000 to $40,000 for owner-occupied homes and up to $25,000 per rental unit, provided through a forgivable lien. Applications are currently being accepted through Thoma Development Consultants at (607) 753-1433.

🤧 Kids + Colds: What Can You Do When They Don’t Feel Like Eating? 💙

Back-to-school season often means cooler weather, new routines—and unfortunately, more sick days! Did you know children can have 6–8 colds a year?

When your little one is sick, they may not have much of an appetite. That’s okay! Here are some simple ways to help keep them hydrated, nourished, and comfortable while they recover:
💧 Focus on fluids. Offer water, diluted juice, soups, and broths. Fruits can also provide fluids along with important vitamins and nutrients.
🍌 Try small meals and snacks. Offer your child’s favorite foods in smaller portions throughout the day. Even a few bites at a time can help provide energy.
🍚 Keep it simple. Rice, noodles, toast, applesauce, bananas, and other easy-to-digest foods may be easier to tolerate when little tummies aren't feeling their best.
🥣 Warm foods can be comforting. Soup and broth can provide fluids and nutrients while helping soothe an upset stomach.
🚫 Skip heavy foods. Rich, fried, and greasy foods may be harder to digest when your child isn't feeling well.
❤️ Most importantly, give them plenty of rest and fluids. If your child has a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, check with their healthcare provider for guidance on keeping them hydrated.
