To the remarkable individuals who serve in our Child Nutrition Programs,

It’s not always the most visible work, but it is some of the most meaningful. Every early morning, every carefully prepared meal, every extra moment spent making sure a child feels seen and cared for—these actions add up to something far greater than food on a tray. You are nourishing potential, supporting families, and strengthening entire communities.

What you do requires more than skill. It calls for patience, consistency, and a quiet kind of compassion that often goes unrecognized. You learn names, notice changes in moods, and offer smiles that can turn a child’s day around.

Your work matters deeply. Not just in meeting nutritional standards or keeping programs running smoothly, but in the human connections you build along the way. You create environments where children feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn.

Please know that your dedication does not go unnoticed. Behind every meal served is a story of commitment and care, and the impact you make reaches far beyond what can be measured.

Thank you for showing up each day with purpose, heart, and unwavering dedication. You are essential, and you are appreciated.

🌾🚜🌱All Blount County 3rd-grade students had an unforgettable day at Kids Day on the Farm on Friday, April 24th at the Blount County Multi-Purpose Building in Cleveland!

Students had the opportunity to explore agriculture up close - learning where their food comes from, interacting with farm equipment, and discovering the importance of farming in our community.

A special thank you to Blount County Young Farmers for helping bring learning to life for our students.

Today, 33 students were honored at the Blount County Board of Education for earning the Alabama Seal of Biliteracy, a prestigious recognition awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in two or more languages.

This marks the first time our district has awarded the Seal, making this achievement even more special! We hope this milestone inspires future students to pursue biliteracy and the many opportunities it brings.

Families and teachers joined in the celebration, recognizing the dedication and hard work of these outstanding students. Congratulations to all! 🌎

The 2026 Blount County Honor Band featured over 80 talented student musicians representing Blount County Schools and Oneonta City Schools. These students came together to showcase their hard work, dedication, and passion for music.

We were honored to have Dr. Cara Morantz from University of Alabama at Birmingham serve as this year’s clinician. Dr. Morantz brings a wealth of expertise as Director of Music Education, Associate Professor of Music, and Associate Director of Bands, and we are grateful for the knowledge and inspiration she shared with our students.

A special thank you to Wallace State Community College and their Department of Music for hosting this event and supporting music education in our community. 🎺🥁🎵
