Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community Members,

Onsted Community Schools is currently addressing an issue with the geothermal system that heats and cools our buildings. An affected area near the soccer fields has been marked off with caution tape and barriers while the issue is being resolved.

The taped-off area is out of bounds and closed to everyone except authorized personnel. Please stay outside this area and remind children to respect the barriers until they are removed.

All appropriate response steps and environmental actions have been taken. Our school buildings remain safe for students and staff, and school will continue as scheduled.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work through this issue. We will share additional updates as needed.

What is Glycol?

Intercool P-300 is a propylene glycol-based liquid used to transfer heat in heating and cooling systems. It helps prevent freezing and contains additives that protect pipes and equipment from corrosion.

For safety:

Do not drink it or touch spilled liquid.
Stay outside the caution tape and keep children and pets away.
If it gets on skin, wash with soap and water. If it gets in eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Leave cleanup to trained personnel. Spills need to be contained and kept out of drains and waterways.
If swallowed or you have concerns about exposure, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

Our OES students had the best time joining the high school cheerleaders as Cheerleaders for the Day! 📣

It was a beautiful evening for a great game, a big win, and SO many smiles from our littles! We love seeing our elementary and high school students come together and make memories like these. 🥰📣🏈

🎉Cheerleader for a day camp registration is ALMOST CLOSED 🎉

Ready for your kiddo to shine like a star for the first half of our varsity football game? ✨

Get them signed up for our mini wildcats cheer camp!

Camp is 2 days of practice right after school, then they get a tee shirt and a bow to cheer with the varsity cheerleading team the first half of the football game October 2nd 💜

Registration closes September 25th. So don’t wait to get registered and on the list to cheer the night away!

(This camp does NOT interfere with any other youth cheerleading teams practice times, so they can all participate)
