Nominate an Outstanding Senior Citizen or Community Service Group!

Do you know a senior citizen making a difference through volunteer work? Or a group dedicated to serving those in need? Now is the time to recognize their efforts!

The Area Agency on Aging is honoring seniors (60+) who have significantly contributed to their communities. Nominees must be Ohio residents for at least five years, and couples can be nominated jointly. One Outstanding Senior Citizen Award will be given in each of the following counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot.

We’re also accepting nominations for the Community Service Award, recognizing an organization, agency, service club, media outlet, or business that has made a remarkable impact on behalf of senior citizens. Only one award will be given across our nine-county service area.

Help us celebrate those who give back! Nominate a deserving individual or group today.

Need help with Home Maintenance and Chores?

This is available to those aged 60 and older who are determined eligible within Ashland, Crawford, Knox, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot counties.

Services include but are not limited to:
🧹Heavy household cleaning, including washing walls and ceilings; outside of windows, washing inside of difficult-to-reach windows;
🧹 Disposing of garbage or recyclable materials, including those related to moving/hoarding/pest control;
🧹Replacing light bulbs and changing furnace filters.

Are you a caregiver supporting someone in the community? Do you need a break? You may be eligible for In-Patient Caregiver Respite.

The Area Agency on Aging has funding to support an in-patient respite stay for your friend or loved one. An in-patient respite stay can occur at an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility.

Eligibility includes:
🔵 Individuals receiving services must be 60 and older and living in one of the 9 counties the Area Agency on Aging serves (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot.
🔵The caregiver can be any age.
🔵Eligibility varies based on available funding and demonstrated caregiver needs.
🔵No income eligibility is necessary.
