We would love to reunite this dog with it's family, however it wasn't interested in getting in the back of the police car. (We get that sometimes) If you know this dog, it is running loose in the area of Home Depot.

We’re proud to partner with Troy Smith and Richland County Newhope on an initiative focused on helping children during difficult moments.

They’ve provided comfort bags that our officers will carry in their cruisers to give to children involved in traumatic calls. Each bag is filled with items meant to help calm, comfort, and provide a sense of security when a child may be scared or overwhelmed.

In police work, we often meet people on their worst days—especially children. Having a way to bring even a small sense of comfort can make a lasting impact.

Thank you to Troy and Richland County Newhope for helping us better serve our community.

🚨 URGENT SCAM ALERT: ONTARIO & SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS 🚨
We have been made aware of a targeted scam currently affecting our community.

The Situation: Individuals from out-of-state are calling local residents who have recently been transported by any EMS service, including Springfield Township EMS. These scammers are attempting to collect immediate payment over the phone for medical transport services.

Important Security Note: At this time, there is no evidence of a data breach. Scammers often use "spoofing" and broad-range dialing to target areas where they know medical services are active. This warning is a precaution to ensure no one falls victim to these predatory calls.

Please be advised:
• Springfield Township EMS DOES NOT call to collect payment.
• All legitimate billing is handled strictly through the mail.
• The department will never ask for your credit card or bank information over the phone.

What should you do? If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately. Do not provide any personal or financial details. If you have questions regarding a legitimate bill, please contact the Springfield Township office directly using the official number found on your mailed statement or the township website.
