As we celebrate this life well-lived, we at the Winding Rivers Library System cannot thank Dolly enough for all she's done to put books into the hands of young children.
We are thrilled to announce that beginning on January 4, 2027, every child ages 0-5 who lives in the seven counties of the Winding Rivers Library System will be eligible to get one age-appropriate book mailed to their home each month.
Help us sustain this program for years to come. Any donation helps us honor Dolly’s legacy while giving children in our community the gift of reading.

Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate American's 250th birthday this weekend? Try the 2026 WRLS Summer History Challenge!
This summer, we’re celebrating 250 years of American history by exploring the stories right here in our own communities. Visit local historical markers, museums, parks, trails, and landmarks across the WRLS area, then learn more using books, movies, articles, or other library resources.
Complete any three challenges during the summer and turn in your entry form at your library for a chance to win prizes.
It’s a great excuse to take a road trip, discover somewhere new, or learn something surprising about the place you call home.

Thank you to everyone who attended this special evening! Attendees were given early access to copies of Susan's new book, The ABCs of Wisconsin Cheese thanks to Dragonfly Books! All of her books come very highly recommended!
